It was off the top of my head so not a direct quote. But you really need to see the Godfather. One of the best movies ever made.

And one of the benefits of reading the book is to realize Don Corleone's reaction to the speech. Why there was no respect given.

It's one that's always been on my list, just never got around to it. It's rare I have 3 straight hours of free time without something already planned.
That's an interesting little speech though. I could definitely see somebody saying that back then.

The problem with your question is the idea that Reagan and the Gov't put crack in the cities.
The CIA operates above and beyond the president and the gov't, serving needs seen not in the present, but needs seen well in advance.
If crack was proliferated by any govt entity, it was proliferated by the CIA. Most likely due to its involvement in Iran Contra, and its dealings with cartels.
One deal leads to another, and so on, and so on.
As far as the heroin epidemic goes, look no further than pharma, the CIA, and Central/South America.
Just as Russia is paranoid regarding its massive borders, so too is America. As far as the CIA is concerned our best interests are making sure central and South America are in a constant state of flux.
Ensuring cartel rule helps dictate that.
If a few helpless souls die for the cause, than so be it.

I know that the CIA experimented with LSD in the 50's trying to find truth serums and mind control for manchurian candidates.
LSD was originally used as means of treating alcoholism and PTSD. It resulted in amazing success, until mass production by non treatment facilities led to federal funding on research being cut. If you're interested learning more read the book Acid Test

I read Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test in high school your suggestion sounds must much interesting though from the summary I just read. I'll definitely be checking that out, thanks
I've heard brief lectures on the subject in some psychology classes I've taken. I remember discussing one particular study where the scientists would find various professionals -engineers, architects, furniture designers, other scientists, etc- who were all stuck on projects that they couldnt figure out how to complete. They would dose them with LSD and stick them in a room for several hours to work on their project and at the end of the day when they checked on the subject most of them had found a new creative way to solve the problems they had been stuck on. The hypothesis being that LSD opened up areas of the brain that we don't normally use thus allowing us to think and function in ways we never would otherwise. These types of tests were shut down when LSD was outlawed, although I believe that hypothesis has basically been proven true by now.
Through my own "tests" when I was a few years younger I fully believe in the positive benefits mentally of various psychedelics. It's always been an interesting subject to me.

The movie Kill The Messenger is about this exact thing. CIA tried to kill him after he found out what was going on. Pretty good movie.

I've heard from more than one person about the tests with ecstasy and trauma therapy. Maybe they were all referencing the same study, but it makes sense.

Great song and music video. Not that I agree with Killer Mike on politics or a lot of the messages in that
Agreed, but I love RTJ

LSD, My Problem Child by Albert Hoffman himself will give you some real insight from his perspective.

I've never used ecstasy or MDMA in any form so I can't personally comment on the effects. But ecstasy isn't a psychedelic so it wouldn't have been lumped in with those kind of drugs.
But yes it was used in the 60s in psychotherapy not only for things like trauma, but for marriage counseling as well.
Despite being outlawed in 1970 ecstasy and MDMA continue to be used by a small number of therapists today, although you obviously won't be able to find one on google and set up an appointment

I mean crack first hit the scene in la in the early 80s. Do u really think some dude on the corner got out his chemistry set and started experimenting?) of course the CIA did it
Cocaine and honestly even crack isn't a potent as they would have u believe this isn't the freebase shut from back in the day
Good ice will beat coke 7 days a week, and people take 4-5 roxys a day at 30 a pop then l they turn to feint when they cat controlA. Opiates kill.
