You take that back, honeypants.

Also, about as real as SEC suicide threats.

No, I'm not going to let that one go.

Christians believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, handed down to man.
That God is one in three. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
As a Christian I will pray for an unbelievers soul and will share the good news of Gods grace if asked but I will never kill someone who servers another god.

You thinking that God Himself put that on their sign?

Look, this world is full of sinners, ignorant folks, evil, injustice and hatred not because God made it that way, or even wants it that way.

He made the place, made it perfect and WE screwed it up. Somebody (not God) composed that sign.

Satan doesn't want you to believe in God and will use whatever he has to to get you to think that way.

Absolute truth. I tell people I'm not religious (because I'm not), but I have a personal relationship with God, which is what the Bible calls for.

I remember in Vacation Bible School there was this one story about a little girl who was debating whether or not she should get baptized. Anyway she decided not to and later on that very day she was killed in a car accident. It was also heavily implied that she went to Hell.

This was a story for childeren ages 8-10. It sounded like they're trying to scare kids to love Jesus (OR ELSE!!)

Not the best tactic.

Good point

My belief in the Christian version of God is nonexistent, but I wouldn't let a church sign influence that. There are plenty of churches that don't perverse the word of God, as taught in the Bible. This was just not one of those.

Well God created fallible beings, knowing they would screw it up. So it's really on him.

sacrifice his son

I've never understood this concept of Jesus' crucifixion as either God sacrificing his son or Jesus sacrificing his life. He was dead for three days (really only two, as he apparently arose on the third day), then came back to life and went up to heaven to be with God. He didn't lose his life, and God didn't lose his son. Where's the supposed sacrifice? Those three days?

Satan was also one of the highest ranking angels in all of heaven before he went off the deep end. Furthermore, God made humans who have done some pretty terrible things throughout time. Yet He did that all with the plan of sending Jesus just so He could have a relationship with us. That is love right there.

Yet He still sent His Son to die for us all. God created us perfect, we screwed that up, and He gave us another chance that we simply didn't deserve. Thank God for that!

The Crucifixion is considered one of, if not THE, most brut execution method in human history. The Crucifixion of Jesus was far more brutal than the normal even was. Furthermore, He was entirely innocent, and He was taking the punishment that WE deserved. By taking our place and nailing our sins to that cross, we have access to God through His great grace and mercy. Praise God.

The "human" Jesus died on the cross. It's a message of sacrificing of yourself for the good of humanity.

Jesus showed grace. Does God show wrath? Sure. But the bible never shows us wrath without grace. Churches that fail to realize this are missing the point, and a big part of why Christianity is suffering.

Neither. It was a sign put together by flawed humans.

We have an improper view of satan, as a result of thousands of years of us trying to rationalize higher beings. Satan was beautiful and intended to be so, both inside and out. But he was given free will, because there can't really be love or joy without choice; eventually he became envious and prideful, the way we all do.

I understand the question. It's a complex one. Christianity often is because it begins with faith, where pretty much all other belief we are exposed to on a day to day basis begins with understanding.

I believe I can walk because I understand that I can, I witness myself doing it. I believe in God because of faith, the understanding comes later.
