I have a 2000 f150 5.4L. Recently the thermostat stuck and ran hot. Changed it. New one stuck and ran hot again. Took thermostat out of engine, drove 2 weeks. All good. Then ran hot with no thermostat! And water in reservoir looks like red mud. Blown head gasket?

More than likely, is your oil milky?

There is no water in the oil at all. Has it changed and they even said there no water in the oil.

Sounds like a blown gasket or possibly a warped head, but I'm not completely up to speed on that particular engine so take it for what it's worth

You may want to flush your cooling system.

If its not skipping, steaming exhuast, and/or water in oil, it probably not a head gasket.

You need a new radiator and flush the block.

I have a 99 F-150 and been through this.
