I'll be in NE Mississippi for work in the next few weeks. What's the best golf course in the general area? Preferably less than 1hr from Corinth. Looks like the only course in Corinth is private.

Drive to Tupelo or Olive Branch. That'd be your best bet.

The Buford Pusser Memorial Course at Slugburger Hills.

It's fairly exclusive and you're restricted to playing with nothing but a wood.

Shiloh Ridge isn't private.
There is the state park up at Pickwick (Pickwick Landing)

But the best that's about an hour away is The Robert Trent Jones Courses in Muscle Shoals.

If you want to stay close, then play Shiloh Ridge. If you dont mind driving 30 or 45 min, then play Pickwick Landing. Thats usually where I play when Im back home and it is a tough course that is tight

I don't know if it's still there .... but I used to love the Holiday Inn course in OB. Played there too many times to count.

The Plantation at OB used to be nice too. I remember when they were building that course in the late '80s. I can only imagine that it would be well established by now.

I lol'd ... but he was asking about NE Miss, not SW Tennessee. Unless you were paying hommage to Towhead White who was one of Pauline's killers ... Towhead was killed in Corinth by a shotgun blast to the head from a guy that Pusser had supposedly hired, somewhere off of 45 I think. I used to know exactly where and I had driven through there many times but I'm not sure anymore - it's been awhile. But Pusser probably killed the other two, of Pauline's killers, in Texas himself. I think the fourth killer of Pauline is still in prison in Angola maybe? I saw something on Roku about that not long ago.

It's still there. But go to muscle Shoals if you're going to drive all the way to Olive Branch. Other than private courses those are the best.

I'll have to try that next time I am over there. I went by the old house in Maywood the last time I was there about six years ago ... Maywood has changed. Maywood is ruined. But I used to drive from my house on Lake Sylvan, to the Holiday Inn course, in about ten minutes back in the day. Whenever I was home, back in the states back then, I could not wait to get home and play. Good gosh that was a long time ago.

Pickwick Landing State Park is nice. It's probably 30 mins away.

Fred Couples also designed a course in Pickwick, Shiloh Falls, but I think it's currently closed.

Oh heck ... talk about bringing back some memories.

I played there long ago with a guy named Jim Serwin who was one of Bam Bam's teammates at Houston and ended-up being the Pro at the TPC at Southwind. Jim was there when the FedEx St Jude moved from the Cordova.

Now, Shiloh, if I remember correctly, was up around Pusser territory in Adamsville or somewhere there abouts? Or maybe it was Shiloh Falls .... I'm confused the more I think about it.

The course at Pickwick I was thinking about was near the dam. Or was that Winnfield Dunn I'm thinking about, instead of dam? Crap I'm getting old.

Did a ton of fishing at both Pickwick and Sardis. One of them had a bridge that went over the locks at the dam and the golf course was right near there.

SC that's Pickwick Landing you're thinking about. The entrance is 1/2 a mile from the dam if that.

Shiloh Falls is about a mile or two down 25. I was built in the early 90s.

Okay good, thanks. I thought that was Pickwick.

Shiloh, the one I remember, was up around Adamsville ... which may have come back to me subconsciously since someone mentioned Buford Pusser earlier.
