What we appear to be doing as a nation is moving away from religion-dominated politics, at least at the federal level.

This is correct. I'm pretty sure Bernie Sanders is an atheist and he did remarkably well considering he answered questions about religion vaguely. I hope you are right and we see less religion in politics.

Trump is probably an atheist as well. When he spoke at Liberty college he seemed to have no grasp for what a preacher even sounded like, he had no one to even mimic.

All politicians from the East Coast at that level are nominal Jews/Catholics/Protestants anyway. It's only down south that you get the true believers.

Agreed. He was just pandering to get the evangelical vote.

I wouldn't say Trump is Atheist. Probably more Agnostic and just indifferent on the whole thing. I think America as a whole is moving towards being more Agnostic.

I could see this too. I absolutely agree that our country as a whole is moving towards less religion. Rather that be more agnostic or more atheist doesn't matter. Both are good. Personally, I don't care what people believe in but when they start affecting laws, etc. based on their religious beliefs is where I have a problem. So, less religion = less influence on politics which = less influence on me.

What makes you think they dont have realistic policies.

- building a wall
- making mexico pay for it
- shipping 12 million illegal immigrants back to their native country
- budget plan
- his $12 trillion dollar tax cut
- special ID's for Muslims
he has admitted dozens of times himself that he tries to pay as little in taxes as possible, and he doesn't even have a foreign policy. the guy is a total clown

We will, until all heck breaks loose and then everybody will be praying for deliverance to the same God that they've skewered and mocked on message boards. America is going to either turn back to God or suffer from the consequences of denying him. Looks like we are on the wrong path as of now, though.

The opposite is true. We have regressed in almost every area in the last 50 years. Spiritually and morally, we are at the lowest in our nation's history. This country is surviving on the backs of about 30% of the population. It can't last much longer.

Please provide a link for your percentages and claims. Some could argue the nation becoming less spiritual is a good thing. I am one of those people.

In the early decades of the 21st century we are still the wealthiest, strongest and most innovative nation the earth has ever seen. At the same time, our citizens have more civil liberties than ever before, longer lives and are pursuing happiness, each to their ability and desire.

Spiritually and morally, we are at the lowest in our nation's history.

This is an individual matter. A society can have mores but not morals. We each have to create our own set of morals and deal, personally, with how they either mesh with or clash with society's mores.

I don't understand this statement. Yes, there are some citizens who try to take advantage of "the system" but the system can be changed to rebuke them.

Yes, there are too many illegal aliens in this country but we can change that, and deny them citizens' rights until that happens.

Yes, we have problems but we are a healthy nation and can address and ameliorate each one.

Good luck engaging a Christian Justice Warrior with reason, insight, and historical perspective. CJWs are known cherry pickers of history and truth deniers.

I just think it's important to engage them, if only to help them see that America is a great nation because of its diversity and not despite it.

I have been saying this for a while. Are you telling me that out of 330 million people, that is the best we have?

Sorry. I just dont believe it

Believing this is why you have people like Trump and Clinton to vote on every four years.

I would be interested in knowing your definition of "healthy" in this context.

So you're good with the path to Fascism that this country has been on for about 100 years and will continue on through this "election?"

I don't intend on voting for either of them
