Alabama has more species of crayfish than any other state

quote:

Of the roughly 400 known species of crayfish, at least 97 of them can be found in Alabama

quote:

"Alabama is like the Holy Grail of crayfishes," said Guenter Schuster, a biology professor at Eastern Kentucky University who has conducted numerous crayfish surveys in Alabama and was cited in the poster. "For aquatic biodiversity, Alabama really has no competition. It has the richest freshwater fauna in the country. The only state that's even close is Tennessee."

I wonder which one is tastiest.

Why do we need more than one species? Crawdads and Crayfish? What?

I promise just 5 Crawfish fields in South LA have more crawfish per square foot than all of Alabama combined.

I've had crawfish from Alabama and Louisiana and can't tell a difference between the two. And I've had hundreds of pounds from each place

That's why I'm here baw, to spread the knowledge. Alabama has the most crawdads and the tastiest crawdads.

Alabama, "The Holy Grail of crawdads", as dubbed and proven by science.

I guess it seems they keep it in the family just like the rest of you gumps, no interbreeding in your state allowed.
