Going from $102 per month to $122 starting in September. Is anyone else's increasing like this and what are some good options for shopping around. Progressive?

Yes, why

I shopped around a few years ago and landed with GEICO with considerable savings.

Most of the carriers took an increase. Would you switch to save $7 monthly, for example?

Be happy. I pay $2200 a year. Married, over 25, multi car discount, accident free

Wow, what's keeping you there? Do you still have Fed Nat for homeowners?

Do we even have a shred of leverage here? What's the play?

My GEICO went up about 170 per 6 months. It's still cheaper than I was paying.

Laziness of not shopping to be honest. I do 6 month payments and I keep telling myself I'm going to shop the next time it comes around and I don't. This last increase will probably get me to finally take action

Yes, still have Federated National. Still less than half of another other homeowner quote out there

I had a significant jump. Called and asked. They said my area had seen an increase in accidents/payouts. I shopped around, everyone else was more expensive. Stayed with GEICO.

GEICO went up 20% for me in July.

I got quotes from all major carriers and switched to Allstate bc their quote was half of what GEICO wanted and was better coverage.

GEICO's business model is that they come in low and save a ton of money, then increase it every renewal. They bank on laziness of the American consumer.

And, to the poster with Fed Nat, look at their financials. Couldn't even get a rating from AM Best.

I called. They said they got the new numbers from Louisiana, and our uninsured and under insured motorist went up so their premiums raised. It's all a formula

Basically, our state is a cesspool shithole

lets say worst case scenario a major storm rolls through and they can't pay out homeowners that are insured through them. Homeowners are SOL?
