Not surprised. If you are going to burn his RS and have him at QB 2 might as well get him some snaps. It follows along with Pinkel's approach to bringing along heir apparent at QB.

He'll start Lock the next game. I think Pink watched tape this past year of Mauk. I think he "second guesses" himself about playing Mauk hurt.
Starting last Friday, Mizzou should have been on the phone to every available QB recruit. Plus, to a few who are already committed.

Yes, I'm very excited. And glad Pinkel rewarded performance with all the freshmen.
It's going to be great to see the young gunslinger play and push Mauk to play better.
It seems like a command decision for a HC going for the throat to three-peat. I like it.
