Ya, we lost to them last year by 16.
They lost some good players from last year, and well, we're much better then last year.

They lost 2 starters last year a post and pg.
in their 1 game they forced lots of turnovers and crashed the boards.
17 TO's forced & 20 second chance points.
But their defense was sketchy. If Mizzou is hitting shot then we have a chance.

Look a little nervous so far.
Gant really needs to figure out what he can do. He should be a better player but everything he does seems to be out of rhythm

Typical college basketball home cookin' going on in this one so far.

Yep. College basketball officiating comes pretty close to making the game unwatchable for me.

Officiating is terrible. Always has been. Always will be. They've went from letting players clutch and grab to not letting them make any contact whatsoever. You need to be 12 deep just to make it through a game. As also mentioned, they make it nearly impossible for the road team to win. One of their guys had the ball cradled on his hip, took about 5 steps and laid it in.
All in all though. Solid first half and this team is MUCH better than last year.

Annnndddd....a pretty shitty second half. Really looked horrible on the offensive end again. Reverted back to last year pretty much.

Yup, they reverted right back to the aimlessly dribble around a jack up a bad shot approach.
Anderson has to get them to stop playing like that. If he doesn't he will be gone. They had looked so much better too in terms of ball/player movement... then this shite.

They've settled back down and are playing basketball again. But it was about 17 minutes of 2014-15 basketball again.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Xavier's zone really got to us with the length of Sumner and the white dude up top. Just have to learn to bearlt the zone. That's Where Gant needs to step the hell up. We need him to be able to catch in the high post and work off him. Either turn and hit the mid range jumper, take it hard to the rim, hit a cutter or make a smart pass once the defense collapses on him.
Overall, liked the way we looked. Xavier's defense looked like they played to their capability.

We lost by 12 to a team that made some very tough jumpers in the second half. We made a ton of freshman mistakes.
Xavier is a far better team than Mizzou. It will get better. We are a team of freshman and sophomores. Things will get better, bud.
