A lot of the comments seem like they are coming from hockey fans.

I don't think it would matter. It just happened to be a woman covering hockey who was one of the subjects.

You figured it all out. Only Hockey fans are misogynistic assholes on the internet.

This type of trashy behavior isnt limited to being directed at only women covering sports either.

I dont condone any of this and am certainly not making any excuses but the anonymity of the internet allows for equal opportunity douchebaggery against all sexes, races and creeds.

Usually the people talking the shite are pussies who would be the last ones to say it to your face. The ones who could back it up don't say shite like that because, well because they don't have to.

That video should be titled Men Have Trouble Reading Mean Comments From 12 Year Olds to Women.

I'm sure no men sports commentators ever receive mean internet comments.

Wishing a woman who was raped to be raped again goes beyond "Internet comments." She also received very specific DMs regarding places she goes in her personal life.

It's simply people trying to be funny/mean. The internet is a cess pool of this and for people to still be startled by it doesn't make a lot of sense.

WoW!

What if somebody said that they wished that your moms, sister or daughter was raped again, especially if they were raped before.

What's wrong with some of you guys?

What if indeed? What could I possibly do? How does this person know me? What do I know about that person? Do you think they truthfully mean that? Do you think what they are saying has any bearing on this event actually happening?

Rather than being upset and crying about those words someone whom I don't know conveyed what are my other options? I don't see the point in allowing them to "harm" you.

Yeah, the old "Hey, I heard you got raped, hope it happens again" gag.

That was Bob Hope's show-closer early on.

Have you turned on comedy central lately? Tosh.O/Anthony Jeselnik/Natasha Leggaro some of the notable comics on there, it's primarily shock comedy. Saying outrageous things. Whether you find that funny or not, sure debate all you want, doesn't change the fact it's what the primary demographic that contributes to this (shocking) is watching.

I hope I never get used to rape jokes. I get that you don't have control over it. And I don't need you to be outraged over it either. It just seems so banal to paper over it.

They weren't rape jokes...these guys were serious! If your wife was raped and I said "I hope she get's raped again" you would just say he was probably a comedian on Comedy Central that's just joking" "Man, the Liberals and their political correctness"

Let's go ahead and understand exactly what we are talking about. No one said "I hope she gets raped again" They posted it with anonymity.

You keep harping on, "what would you do", and "you would just say." What exactly are you proposing? There are 2 options Sulk and be upset, while at best engaging in an internet argument, which will only allow these people to see how rattled you are getting and further engage, or you can ignore them and realize it's a person making a stupid comment online.

Do you think those people really mean it? Obviously the words are hurtful, obviously they shouldn't be said. What is there to do though other than avoid/ignore it?

And what the hell do you mean, "these weren't jokes, these guys were serious!" You think these random people who only know this person due to her reporting are all in on hoping she gets raped, or is it more of an attempt to hurt her feelings and get a laugh? As stupid as the comments are, that statement is even dumber.

The guys are dicks, bottom line. I don't give a shite if they're liberal or conservative. Both sides have their assholes. Won't lose any sleep over them but wouldn't mind it either if they died a miserable death. Wait. Did I just do the same thing they did.

It's all stupid stuff said by pussies who would never say it in person and should have never been said in the first place.

Guess I'm glad that my mom doesn't post a national blog and has very limited knowledge of the internet. If some one said that they wished she was raped then it would come from a family member or a friend on Facebook and that would be pretty messed up.

If you take comments from BigBallaPlaya12345 or any other random person on a comment section seriously then you should probably quit the internet.
