An article from his first year at Houston. Really like what I'm reading. The guy doesn't meddle apparently but he's also not afraid to let coaches go. Apparently first made changes in the non-revenue sports...could be a good thing for baseball. Doesn't stand for mediocrity and wasn't afraid to move on from a well liked basketball coach.

Yeah, it would appear that TJ's time has passed.

And Anderson better get shite fixed and fast. Rhoades has been at UH from 2009 to 2015. They have 15 sports. He has hired 14 new head coaches in that relatively short time period.

Baseball
Basketball x2
Football x2
Men's Golf
Women's Golf
Women's Basketball x2
Women's Soccer
Women's Swimming and Diving
Women's Tennis
Volleyball
Women's Cross Country

He ain't afraid to pull the trigger.

I am hopeful that KA is a bridge and that it was designed to be that way. It would be pretty awesome to hear a retirement speech from him after Wednesday's game. I doubt it happens and I am betting the bridge goes on another year, but with this guy coming in and demanding excellence maybe KA would bail now, if it wasn't designed to be that way this whole time...

If he runs Pinkel off then we'll all hate the fact that Loftin hired this bozo.

Honestly, who can we possibly hire that is a better fit than Pinkel?

I swear to you, I fear that he may be the absolute wrong guy. What do we want more at Mizzou: A new or improved football stadium, or a winning coach who takes us to conference championship games?

This hire worries me.

Just because he hired a ton at a struggling athletic department, may not mean he will do the same here. Although without improvement KA will probably be gone after next year.

I'm not too worried about it. Any smart AD will keep Pinkel until he retires, which is in a few years IMO (End of Drew Locks career).

I think he will get on the same page as Pinkel as far as fundraising and new buildings go.

As for basketball....KA has one year to really show some improvements, or he is gone. His fire rate is very high, but that has also been at lower level universities.

I have some initial reservations, too, Killz. But nothing like the reservations I had over the KA hire.

I trust that an executive who is making $500k+ understands that every situation is different and just because he fired everyone at the last school doesn't mean he has to fire everyone here.

I think Pinkel will retire within the next 5 years. I assume at this point Pinkel is pretty much untouchable until after that point anyway, assuming we have any measure of success in the W-L column.

TJ and KA are the ones that should be worried at the present time.

I don't know where all the GP talk came from. GP has been successful and isn't going anywhere.

The other thing about those 14 hires Rhoades has made, they're not all after firing people, those he's clearly shown he's not afraid to do that if you don't produce. Sumlin left, wasn't fired, leading to another hire.

So Rhoades starts in April not August?

I'd be surprised if he didn't.

No point in dragging it out once it's announced.

but he might. and his track record indicates a higher possibility of cleaning house than not.

He didn't do much firing/hiring at Akron. So wouldn't necessarily expect a lot here.
Baseball is the obvious one in that with a good year here he would of been gone.

My take on it is that he looks for a winning culture in the non-revenue sports. Most of those fires/hires weren't in the big 2, though he was obviously involved in those too. It seems like it's been forever at Mizzou that you could have year after year of losing seasons in non-revenue sports and your job was never threatened.

Listen, people. I'm very protective of Pinkel. No joke, if I could adopt him as my father I would. I would like to spend Christmas with Pinks drinking hard egg nog and shootin' the shite. I'd like him to be grandpa to my children.

If this Rhoades mutherfricker messes with Pinkel in any way, I will jump that shark.
