I'm not sure I see Thatch as a high major guard. I would pick him as the 8th or 9th best player in 2018.

4 STL recruits made Rivals 2018 top 150.

Where would you rank him versus our FR class this year?

The only players on the team that I think have higher potential are Barnett, Walton, and Hughes.

Walton might be a solid comparison. Same size, both are limited in their offensive skill sets.

I'm gonna bet Ford's staff was able to line up tickets for them, together, in good seats and didn't make their coach pay for them after forgetting to have them at will call for them.

I'll defer to y'all because I haven't watched much of this team but the only one I've seen that I'd actually want is Barnett. The others I'll take just because we have to have at least 5.

Notice I said potential. Based on what we have seen from Walton and Hughes this year you are right.
I think a good coach can fix Hughes shot.
Walton needs his shooting mechanics completely reworked. Do that and I think he could score 15 a game next year. He just needs a competent jumper to go with his slasher game.

Maybe neither reach that potential.

I'm not saying you're opinion is wrong at all. I'm just giving mine.

To put my opinion in other terms, if we have defections after the season, Barnett is the only one I really hope does not leave. Behind him I'd probably put Phillips because of his attitude, his experience and he doesn't suck. Right after him, I'd say Hughes and Jackson because of what you said, their potential. Beyond that, I'm frankly kind of hoping most of them do go.

If we start processing players it's hopefully because we're getting players like Ford is.

Jackson is already gone. Transferred to Toledo.
I like Smith's potential, but he is nowhere near strong enough yet. He also had a tendency to get lost on defense.

Puryear is a solid rotation player. Size and athleticism will always hold him back. As long as he's the best frontcourt player Mizzou will not be good.

This team isn't good so if the new coach processes players I'm ok with that, just think that a coach like Musselmann would be really good for the players currently here. His work developing players in the D-League is really good.
We could also recruit over most of the roster now.

You're high. We're shooting like 27% from 3. We don't have anyone over 6'8" other than Nikko and I'm not sure he can play four years.

We need everything.

Which is why we need height.

We need guards that can shoot and score. They are way easier to find than impact big men.

I actually think Barnett, Walton, & Hughes could become a solid trio with a coach better at developing players. We need more though.

Thatch is the 2nd best shooter in the class, 2nd to Watson and its damn close.

Yes. From everything I've read he's really increased his game by working on his perimeter shooting. Now can shoot over you or play through contact. It seems, from what I've read at least, that any criticisms are based off of his play as a freshman or whatever.

An impact big man to stand under the basket and one reliable shooter and this team is decent instead of embarrassing.

With that fact, what does that say for KA?

With an inferior roster he's been pumping out some competitive games.
