It's amazing what a confident, locked in QB can do for a teams mojo.

Seemed like everything was better today. This feels much better to me. Lock completing 75% of his passes? As a true freshman? Damn!

My only gripe was the play calling. Hopefully that improves, I'm thinking they were just trying to Lock comfortable back there.

Next week will be a big test.

He'll have to deal with a real defense.

Let that sink in for a second.........and then, for desert, consider that we had 160+ from our tailbacks.

We are not "there yet", but we got the right guy pulling the trigger now!

Pinkel admitted to Gervino post-game that they kept it conservative, especially in the 2nd half. Assuming he starts next week, it has to be better.

I think Boogar said it best, it took Drew Lock one half of a football game to complete the same number of passes Mauk completed the entire game last week.

The play calling was excellent today. Why give lock more chances to make rookie mistakes, he still almost threw a bad pick on a short slant. They'll open up the book as he goes along, and he'll go along fast I think

They will need to open it up a bit to keep the UF defense honest. We need Abbington ready next week, small rb's are going to find it tough the next 2 weeks.

And I know everyone is feeling good, but WTF is up with the LB/Safety tackling today?

Agreed. More of a bounce to everyone's step. Playing offense like we did was demoralizing for the whole team.

It wasn't bad, I just hoped they would open it up more in the second half.

After that last TD, GP went into operation clock kill.

That's ok, but I'm selfish and want to see what Lock can do.

A win is a win, and I feel much better going forward.

I'm pretty sure we've seen the last of the reverse pivot, run backwards, chuck and duck play.

There will be bumps in the road, Lock looks like the kind of guy to shrug those bumps off though. Unlike Mauk, who loves bumps.

Not just shrug them off but learn from them

There was no need to give next week's comp more film on Lock. Keeping it simple this week will pay off next week.
