I don't know. I think F. Martin and Marshall are pipe dreams that a lot of fans refuse to let go of.
Romar can't coach. C. Martin's winning feels manufactured and often has come with other people's players.

Rank them however you want as far as likelihood or the best choice.

I would love to see MU get Underwood from OSU (supposedly he is low on the pay scale and he was a great up-and-comer candidate when the Pokes grabbed him), Keatts (like those results he has put up), Crean (like the way he coaches and he recognized what a player the Jeff City kid was going to be), Drew from Baylor (has MO ties and who wouldn't want to get away from that growing dumpster fire), or Holtmann (why would he leave a solid program in the Big East though, unless he thought winning consistently in the SEC is easier).

Greg Marshall is top of my list and think we can land him. I believe that Mike Alden was the reason why he didn't take the job. I think Tom Crean is a very real possibility. Lot of talk about him to Mizzou granted all rumors. I've heard that C.Martin is top of the list. Not sure how I feel. Musselman is guy who has grown on me. I like him at 2. 3. Would be Frank Martin. 4. Is Tom Crean. 5. Butlers head coach is 5 for me

I think they have to make a big splash. People are so down on Mizzou sports right now I don't think anything short of a shot of adrenaline is going to bring people back. Making a big expensive hire isn't always smart, but I think in this scenario you have to. You can't go Frank Haith, Kim Anderson, Joe Shmoe.

Eric Musselman, Greg McDermott, Archie Miller, Randy Bennet

I like all of those

Since we are just spit ballin I would add

Marshall, Drew, Cronin

There are good mid major choices close by if we can't go big

Muller - Illinois State
Dambrot - Akron
Forbes - East Tennessee
Davis - Middle Tennessee

I would be OK with Crean assuming he get's canned

I'd really like to see one of those, but I've got my official Mizzou nut cup on

I don't really have a top 5.... I'd be happy with a "big name" as long as he's not on the twilight of his career........ But then again, I could be happy with a Keats also.

Nice to see some instant excitement back into MIZZOU BB.

The reset button has been pushed. I have faith in Sterk to make best possible "realistic" hire.

College basketball, you need to both recruit and coach. Some are better than one than the other. Getting a top recruiter is imperative. The talent base is light.

I'll assume Hoiberg isn't available. But a faint hope Marshall is a possibility.

1. Greg Marshall this would be a coup
2. Tom Crean - Life would be easier than trying to be Bobby Knight
3. Cuonzo Martin
4. Brad Underwood
5. Lorenzo Romar - only because he is a top recruiter, and might get the Porters

There is also running a big program. My concern is we overlook the hot mid majors after Anderson since this appeared to be his big weakness. There is a big difference in the program jump from a mid major to P5, and D2 to P5. Still some learning to do but not huge like D2.

I want Kenny Payne the head assistant coach with Kentucky for recruiting purposes as long as he can get some assistants that can teach.

I would totally be down with that.

Let's go with it.

Drew to Mizzou!

I have this feeling that Martin is a house of cards. Makes me nervous that he's never stuck around one place long enough to see if he can sustain a program.

If Martin leaves in 3 years, but Mizzou is rebuilt I would be ok with that.

1-5 Marshall.

Kilgore said he is coming. I am in on this. It was right there last time and Alden bungled it. Everyone loves the new AD and that includes Marshall.

I'm holding out hope for Marshall and that all this Crean and Martin stuff is a distraction.

Mizzou is the perfect P5 team for him. He apparently hates kansas, and I feel like he would rather establish his own thing than take over a blue blood. He could turn Mizzou into that, and we could pay him like he deserves.

Marshall or one of the big name mids.

Crean is what I expect is going to happen.
Nothing great, nothing bad. It'll do.

Underwood is the lowest paid coach in the Big 12. So, you are correct. He is as low as you can get on the pay scale in the Big 12.

Marshall seems to want to get out. It seems he is leading a charge for WSU to change leagues. I think Martin is a good coach, but lately his teams are wearing down late in the season and making it hard on themselves to get in the tourney.

+1 (+10?, is that a possibility).

Romar staying at WU has been announced. For this MU fan - Whew....bullet dodged.

Hoping to hear a similar announcement from Cal soon. Fingers crossed.

Stories the last couple of days have mentioned USC's coach, who came from/built that Dunk U school in Florida (Gulf Coast maybe). I surprised he is in the pool of possibilities. He is an intriguing possibility.

Not a big fan of McDermott. IMO - not done much any year his son was not on the team. Has had some OK teams, but just "get to the tourney teams."

I would like a coach that can build a team to get to the Elite 8 and Final 4. Don't think McDermott is that guy. Don't think C Martin is that guy.

Hardly anyone wants F. Martin. We're just giving SC shite.

Marshall doesn't sound as rooted in place as last time. If Indiana is looking that will be some serious competition
