Hey y'all, how bad is it snowing in your particular neck of the woods? Little brother told me there's still classes at Mizzou.

Stay safe and warm out there

Ice pellets earlier, now snowing pretty good in STL. Maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch already.

Lots of snow in Columbia, and it sounds like there's been some ice too. It's still snowing hard, and is supposed to off and on until sometime tomorrow morning, I think.

Mizzou called off classes around noon, the city is pretty much shut down and on emergency services only.

And yes, there has been thunder-snow; I think this is only the 3rd time I've seen it in my life. It's snowmageddon out there today for sure!

Wichita area started getting snow early yesterday morning. Fell steadily until about 3pm, accumulation 6 to 8 inches. Started up again after midnight with lighting and thunder, new accumulation another 6 to 8 inches. Every school and most government non essential offices closed.

Actually very pretty, and we who don't have to leave the house are enjoying the beauty. Repeatedly clearing off deck area where we have created a bird sanctuary. Dozens of song birds have settled in our trees and have come to entertain us as they feed off seeds and grain that we replenish several times a day.

You warm weather folks may no believe it, but I would miss this winter beauty, if not able to experience at least a couple times a year.

KC for me and over 12" of snow so far. From what I can gather, it is around 14" for my subdivision.

It's hard to tell how much snow we actually have because of the drifts. I have drifts close to 3 ft on my patio. And sleet started mixing in with the snow an hour or so ago. Glad i don't have to go anywhere!

We're probably 5-6 inches in STL now. Kind of tapered off right now but I'm not sure if it's supposed to pick back up again or not.

808.

Cool picture, did you take it today? And what is that black thing front center? Looks like a headless, armless, mannequin in a tuxedo standing on its last leg....

I just lifted it off the Mizzou FB page. Sorry. Should have attributed it.

I haven't ventured out of my home here in the greater STL today.

Thin Mints my all time fav, but Lemon and Coconut, not far behind! My neighborhood must have run out of GS, cuz no one knocked on door this year. But I have made two batches of yummy brownies with nuts and Craisins in last week. Now I need to increase my Y visits!

Here's another FB picture. This one came from Clear 99's FB page (I feel compelled to note that I don't listen to fricking country music).

Apparently some good-hearted Mizzou students camped out alongside the road and helped out motorists who got stuck.

Let's explore that feeling....

[Edit 1:15] Wow, just realized this was my 1111 post and that number looks so cool, I may never post again.....or else I could just keep editing this one.

[Edit 1:20] Thanks, Tom Sawyer
