Thoughts on flipping sides of the field?

Personally, I'm all for winning games. If being on the opposite side of the field keeps them cooler and makes it harder to pick up signs, I'm all for it.

If the student section was crazy with support, I'd reconsider. The reality is that the student section is relatively tame and half leave at halftime anyways.

Oh, and the Lair group claiming moving them will put the entire program in jeopardy is a joke.

Can't BO do whatever he wants with this?

I'm all for it. If it means better reserved seats available for the games, great. Several years ago, i went with a med student who had student tix to a texas game and it was horrible. Just drunk college kids paying minor attention to the game. I get that's what a student section is for but it doesn't need to be between the 30s.

The point BO makes about the sun makes sense. Why has it taken all the coaches this long to figure it out?

My opinion is who cares. If BO wants to do this, then let him do it.

Our fans pretty much suck anyway so I'm all for it if BO thinks it will be advantageous.

I'm sick and tired of student groups trying to drive the ship. Shut your mouths and let the professionals make their decisions. We have one of the most bandwagon student fan bases in the SEC. Period. Win and they will show, don't or even play .500 and they won't.

It's a dumb friggin idea. And the Student Sextuon is actually mad crazy when they aren't trotting an embarrassingly inept product on the field.

I was at the Zou from 08-12. Tail end of the Daniel years and the beginning of the Gabbert era.

You don't know shite if you weren't there for the OU game with College Gameday. Or really, any conference game from that time.

Often, it was the student section making all the noise when the team was down.

This is an idiotic move and reeks of being a control freak.

I went to 80% of those games, and many before that.

If we are good. Fans will show up and have energy. If not, they won't.

It doesn't matter where the students sit. Same will be true.

Month ago, students did such an awesome job recruiting...now students are terrible. I for one like fans that don't show up for losing teams. Put a good product on the field, the team should bring the fans.

I just want to make it clear, I was not the one who said that.

Yeah, I never understood why Pinkel always wanted the sideline that looked right into the sun either.

Yeah I was at that OU game and was awesome, but Mizzou students show up when were good and not so much otherwise.

We have one of the smallest capacity stadiums in the league and can't even fill that up. That's why we lost the Orange Bowl invite to Kansas a few years back in the B12, because Mizzou fans don't travel well. Plus, we beat Kansas that year.

Do it.I always thought it was stupid to let our players bake in the sun.

Meh. I'd love to see the student section harassing opposing coaches and players.

This is how it was when I was an undergrad. I enjoyed throwing orange slices at the Nebraska players

Come to a game against a lesser non-conference team and at kickoff, see who has more folks in the crowd, the alumni sideline or the student sideline...the students are fickle.

I have no problem with the plan other than the fact it looks like they may put the visiting team's fans in prime seating between the 40-yard lines. I hate that idea. Went to the LSU game last year and our seats were about halfway to the moon. If other conference teams give visiting fans crappy seats I see no reason why we shouldn't do the same.

I think the seating directly behind the opposing teams bench are tickets given to the opposing team. Family members in such.

I think the actual visitors sections would be in the upper corners on the East Side.

That would explain it. They should break up the seats in groups of four or eight so they won't dominate one area.

They could also alternate rows with mizzou season ticket holders since they can use the first 25 rows for visiting teams instead of the proposed first 11 rows.
