I'm beginning to think the reality of it is.......Cueto is a big bust. We gave up some good prospects for this guy and I haven't seen much except the other team going yard on his arse on a regular basis. I would have much rather held on to Finnegan and the others and took our chances with J-guts.

I'm not concerned about the team as a whole. This is a slump but I think the Royals are still in good shape. I am definitely concerned about Cueto.
My thoughts on him are:
1. That he isn't really happy here. I don't think he fits our clubhouse culture and he doesn't look like he's enjoying himself anymore.
2. I don't think he feels very motivated to fix what's wrong...when he's out on the mound and things start going wrong, it looks like he just lets himself get discouraged and keeps throwing trash down the middle in frustration. It's kind of a "lets just get this over with" attitude instead of a "lets fix the problem" attitude.
3. I think he's a bit of a headcase. I don't think he's comfortable pitching on the big stage. We all know about the infamous wildcard game in Pittsburgh where he melted down in front of the hostile crowd. I think he liked being in a relatively overlooked market like Cincinnati who wasn't really competing for a World Series. In contrast, the Royals have the best record in the AL and have World Series expectations, and I don't think Cueto is comfortable being in the spotlight like that, especially when everyone is expecting him to be the dominant ace for a World Series caliber team. I think he gets psyched out by the expectations and quits having fun and it hurts his game tremendously.

Fvck Cueto. No shows for fan events and no shows when he is supposed to pitch. It would be hilarious if the Royals left his dumbass off the playoff roster.
Side note: I want him to win every single game he pitches for us.

Those are good thoughts really. I kind of felt after he was a few games into his slump it reminded me of Ventura's problems. Still kind of think that. Too much pressure on him. Too much spotlight like you said. I think they said he wanted to putch for the Reds coming up. That wsd his team.
All I know, is if he doesn't line his shite out, he can probably forget the big contract he was supposidly looking for. No one will pay big money for a BP pitcher.

Our bad pitching appears to be more contagious than the chicken pox.

Another thing to cross off the list of things that haven't happened since 1985...now there's only one thing the Royals haven't done since '85.
Let's win the fricking World Series

Best of luck to ya. You know the joint is gonna be poppin' when KC wins it all

Yep, last semester though so I'm trying to stay focused the best that I can!
And yessiree, I'd do just about anything to see my boys in blue (or any of my teams for that matter) win it all at some point. Still waiting...
Chiefs, Royals, and Mizzou are a rough combo

Become a Spurs fan
If I was smart I would! I don't follow the NBA all that closely, but unfortunately the team I picked to be a "fan" of was the Thunder (shortest drive from KC). I just love disappointment apparently!

Congrats on the AL Central Division Title Mizzou Royals brothers and sisters.

Clinch the AL Central one night then get "Ned Yosted" the next night. Hope he.knows what he's doing. Damn! Home field advantage slowly erroding.

Neck and neck now. But really I would prefer the Royals not play NY in the first round anyway. So if NY or Hou and Toronto beat up on each other for a series I am ok with that. Especially if one could take out Toronto.
No Toronto please.
No Toronto please.

Toronto owns homefield now, which I'm not that worried about.
I don't think we'll make it past the ALDS anyways. The team just isn't the same since August. No pitching whatsoever.
