doing what it looks like he's doing in the vine someone posted on TB? I don't know how to move those things over here.

If so, he's gotta be gone. If not, whoever passed that around should have defamation cases filed against them.

Definitely an old video. His hair has been way short for over a month now. Really long in the video. Probably just the reason for the original suspension.

I think someone says Maty at the end.

Real question is when this video was made. If it was recent, then he's gone. If it's what caused the suspensions, then not a killer. He was not charged and could have gone through some sort of rehab since.

It doesn't matter when it was shot. It has gone from rumors and even a good idea of what went on to in your face doing lines no doubt about it. He has to go and he has to go yesterday.

Oh, definitely. Just obvious that it is old. How old, no clue...but is more than likely just the original reason for his suspension.

I love how people are shocked over this video...Seems like he got help and is making real strides to improve over the last month or so.

But I really doubt the coaches didn't know, or that this would somehow affect his status. Only to say he will not transfer.

I agree, it's just a bad look for the football program.

However, there was a video of Nkemdiche hitting a bong floating around last year and nothing ever came of that.

I'm saying that the coaching staff may have already seen this 5 months ago and it is just now leaking out.

I get what you're paulie. All I'm saying is that even under that scenario, it went from something the staff knew of but was kept under wraps to now our former starting QB is very publicly seen doing lines. The public awareness changes the entire complexion. We do NOT want this as how the program is known.

He's got to go. Yesterday.

Or perhaps he got help and is the better for it?

Seems like a real waste to kick him now. I'd put alot of money down that they already knew and got him help.

I just want to know who made the video, and why they would wait this long to release it? It is obviously old...raising the question, why now?

I don't know if shocked is the word. Embarrassed might be more appropriate. Pissed that they let this loser stay on the team. But not shocked that Mauk is an arse hat.

I don't give a shite what strides he's made in the last month. I wish him well in life. We don't need this as the face of the program.

Yeah. I see your point. Maty snorting Coke is 100 times worse than Nkemdiche smoking a bong.

We'll see what happens.

Good. I hope he lives a productive life. I really am happy for him if he got help.

What makes it a real waste now as opposed to 24 hours ago? Nothing.

Don't doubt it. Has nothing to do with what was known and when or what help they got him. It's about it being so public. It's horrendous PR and can be viewed as condoning players doing coke.

Probably some douche bag who tried to squeak money out of Mauk and when none came he released it.

then is it time to kick all illegal drug users off the team?

TBJ, Penton, etc. etc.?

Sure, weed and coke are different, but both are illegal.

First, if you can't see the difference in public perception of the two, I don't know what to tell you.

Second, weed is decriminalized in Columbia so that should tell you another thing about how the two are viewed.

Third, if videos of TBJ and Penton surfaced of them smoking weed, yes, I think it would be a much more difficult spin and much more embarrassing to the University.

Fourth, this is like strike 10 for Mauk, like it or not. He has embarrassed himself and the University many more times than TBJ or Penton.

Your logic would have Jameis Winston still playing at FSU if a video surfaced of him raping that girl...because the staff was already aware of it.

I would kick him off the team if I were in charge, but I think you are overreacting a bit.

Plenty of players before him have fricked up, served their time, and continued to play. Plenty after him will do the same.

Coke has a way worse stigma than weed, but OU has a player who broke a girl's jaw playing for them.

And not something I'd want attached to my University either.

All I'm saying is Mauk is a cancer. I understand wanting to play savior and help the kid out. But the University has an image to deal with too. And like it or not, this image doesn't play well with most of society. Tell the kid we'll continue to get him help. Hell, we'll help get you a job. But he shouldn't don a Tiger uniform again.

Having said that, I'm sure Odom won't cut him loose and life will go on.

Actually the opposite, I'm saying that the video surfacing should change nothing. Also there is a huge difference between recreational drugs and rape. I think it is worse if you know and then do something AFTER a video comes out, a la Ray Rice.

Coke and weed each have negative stigmas attached, even moreso than their actual adverse affects. Remember, cocaine used to be used as medicine, and was an ingredient in Coca-Cola for a long time, and was a favorite of many idolized athletes of the 80s and 90s. It is just recently that it has become such a taboo drug and subject.

It would be great IMO if Mauk would make a statement on it though. Clarity would go really far I think.

Don't disagree with that.

I don't know about that. I don't ever remember the general public being accepting of people doing lines. I've known plenty of people who have done it and went on to live productive lives and I've known more that have had their lives ruined by it. I don't wish the kid ill. It's just an image we don't need. Not in the 80's. Not now.
