I don't think there will be as many as some say.

UT for sure, but I think they e already got their replacement and it isn't anyone we'd be going after.

Ole Miss for sure, but they are going to have a very hard time pulling any attractive candidates. This is a spot Les Miles actually makes sense.

Arkansas maybe. I'm not totally convinced they'll want to pay the buyout, but they might. This would be the one job opening in the league I think we'd be directly competing against if it came open.

Don't think aTm opens.
Don't think Auburn opens.

All this assumes Odom is fired, but there may not be as much competition as originally thought.

The Arkansas buyout is $5 million, not the $15 million that was originally reported.

I know. It's almost 8 actually after factoring asst buyouts, but some of that will be offset by guys taking new jobs.

I'd still put them firmly in the maybe category

Petrino back to Arkansas?

Tennessee is the only opening I'm sure of.

Barring a miracle run to close the season, starting with beating Auburn and running through till the bowl game there is very little chance Bielema will be back.

The fans are voting with their feet (and our AD is all about the money) and staying away while big money boosters are up in arms. Having watched Arkansas football for some time the most obvious sign is that the in state media has turned on the big feller.

Our sports reporters have a special relationship with the athletic department... which is to say they print what the AD tells them to print. Arkansas is a one team state so if the Razorbacks start giving you the cold shoulder you are basically dead as a sports reporter. When they start printing stories critical of a coach he's as good as gone.

It won't be Petrino though, even if we change ADs. Too much bad blood over what happened. We may make a run at Gundy from Okla State, though everyone is sort of expecting that. Long has a tendency to pull coaches out of left field except for when he poached Mike from y'all.

Barring a big name being interested I wouldn't be surprised if Long goes for Norvell out of Memphis. He's an Arkansas native and obviously knows the area well. A bit young and unseasoned but if the team shows signs of progress we'd be willing to give him the time to grow into the job.

If we don't get Norvell then he might be someone y'all want to take a look at. Like I said, he's a bit young but he knows the area and already recruits the Eastern half of Missouri.
