The first series of the year is quickly approaching between the two MLB franchises in the great state of Missouri.

Outside of Texas A&M we enjoy a unique internal dynamic among our fan base inside the SEC in that we vigorously support multiple professional sports teams geographically within this great state while also supporting our beloved college of choice, The University of Missouri.

We collectively embrace that dynamic as Missourians and embrace the rivalry. Its who we are.

Let this thread serve as that conduit for the "fight" .No feelings hurt, nothing out of line, say what you need to say and let the chips fall where they may and we all meet back in the middle to love our Tigers when its over.

Lawl Royals, lose one WS and think you're all of a sudden better than us. MM has been losing NLCS ever since he got here.

Don't know where you all are on your rotation, but we should be throwing either Ventura or Pino for game 1

Um well, yeh. You just lost a series to a second place team in our division in your house. The same team we've bested all year. We swept your division foe this week. Our team takes care of business. That simple. This weekend will be no different. Prepare thy anus.

Our rotation is strange. The back end seems to be the best at times.
**#3, 4 and 5 pitcher**
#3 2-2 2.96 ERA
#4 6-0 2.13 ERA
#5 4-2 4.08 ERA Funny guy to follow, this season hes thrown 3, 0 ER starts and 7 of his 9 starts hes allowed less then 2 ER. Sounds like CY Young, then he has 2 games with over 7 ER in both..

Confusing team, but whatever it is its working for now.

I grew up a fan of George Brett, Willie Wilson, Frank White, Hal McRae, and the rest when I was playing little league ball. Then girls became more interesting and the strike killed baseball for me.

Having a local Cardinals affiliate in town drew me to follow and root for the Cards. My kids have become Cardinal's fans. But when the Cards play the Royals, I quietly hope the Royals win.

Royals years finishing over .500: 19
Cardinals world series appearances: 19

One fan base thumps their chest over a series vs a common opponent in May, the other chuckles in response...

Cardinals are 30-16 in your house all time. I think you are a little confused on whose anus needs proper preparation.

It's odd, because 2 of their 3 pitchers I've never heard of...

That's Ok. Are you not a fan of baseball? If you were, you'd know who they were. Obviously you didn't watch the WS last year like most true BB fans would do. That's ok though. You guys keep klinging to your glorious past, and we'll just keep taking care of business.

Kilo.

I'll just leave this here. You may have the overal for right now, but the insecurities of cards fans are starting to show. All I can say is you may have the overal wins, but we got the one win that counts in that catagory.....1985. We are back, deal with it.

Well there are some levels, much like I don't care to go see a t ball game played by 4 year olds, I wouldn't care to watch royals baseball. There's just something about bad teams that really makes it boring, but who am I telling, right?

Lulz.

What do us Cards fans have to be insecure about?

The Royals are in the AL. If they were in the NL, then maybe this might be a decent rivalry.

1985 was 30 friggin years ago. 30. Years.

Cards have won 2 rings and 5 NL Pennants since then. I guarantee STL fans have moved on, I know I have.

The Royals have a good and exciting team, good for you guys and your city. It's not like the Cards suck this season though.

Oh I know cards fans don't give a rats arse about the Royals. They just pop into our threads and leave happy faces and little comments once in a while. That's ok though. I kind of like it really.

Thirty years ago still counts. I don't think the Cards organization went through the death of it's owner or the death of it's world series coach either. There were many mistakes made after those. I'm suprised this team stayed here actually with the teams the put on the field, spending as little money as possible, dealing off number one picks to other teams to make money when all they had to do was field a winner and the money would have been there for them like it is now. I'm sure if the Cards organization fielded teams and delt players like the screwed up Royals of the the 90's did, there wouldn't be as many pennants and rings floating around the Lou.

No, what Royals fans had to endure for 30 plus years was hell pure and simple. Be glad you have had an organization that has kept the torch lit as long as it has. I wouldn't wish our shite run on anybody, not even a cards fan.

The Cards of the '90's were terrible. The ownership group ran them into the ground before selling to the DeWitt Group.

Yet, they've still had 4 pennants and 2 rings.

And for the record they did lose their owner in 1989, and his son damn near destroyed everything he built. Whitey quit that same year.

I don't want to hear your shitty excuses.

St. Louis Post Dispatch named Gussie Busch the greatest owner in St. Louis sports sometime ago.I don't remember anything about him back then, but I saw some old footage of him riding with the clydesdales and carriage with his red suit and cowboy hat before the '87 World Series and it was neat.He seemed to care about the team as much as he did to make a dollar.

Well you got that part right. Give me the option of one WS ring over KC or 11 rings but not against KC, give me the 11.
