Rhoades, on Google hangout, says he's impressed with game day environment. Saw fans tailgating at 7 am during his morning jog on Saturday

Rhoades mentions that MU is probably looking at about $200M plus in facilities projects in the near future.

I just like the idea that we've apparently moved from "maybe's" to these things sound like they're definitely going to happen.

Watch it pal. I have more memories at Hearnes than I do at Faurot.

Times have changed of course, but that place holds a special place in my heart.

My best memories, watching Crudup throw a rejection clear into the scorers table and seeing Booker and Lamont Frazier go up for a tip dunk and both hang on the rim and get T'd up.

Beating Nebraska In 1994. 14-0

Julian Winfield was the truth.

Good times.

Didn't Frazier play basketball and football?

Not sure, but Hearnes was the place to be when I was growing up.

Cardinals got sucky.

No NFL.

Mizzou football was a joke.

When I turned 16 and got my license, going to Hearnes with my HS pals was a thing, and it was fun. Watch the most exciting sports team in Missouri, grab a Strech and head back home.

Awesome.

Watching Peeler and DSmith in Hearnes was one of my best memories. Sadly Mizzou fball was horrible those years.

I hope they decide to build a new baseball stadium and expand capacity with some more nice suites in the south end zone.

It sounds like he is going to grab the bull by the horns and get shite done.

I too have fond memories of Hearnes. I graduated before Mizzou Arena was built, but it is time for Hearnes to go. It is an outdated eyesore and way too expensive to upkeep.

It is the Kemper Arena of Mizzou. (KC peeps I know you will get that reference)

I loved watching Kareem Rush. My favorite memory was when Hollis Price and a stout Oklahoma team came in... Very first play of the game, Kevin Young goes up strong and throw down one of the hardest one-hand slams on like 3 people. It was awesome because the crowd was like "WTF?!?!?! Where did that come from?. He always played so timid, but that one play, he just made OU look silly.

To have basically unused space so close to the football field and basketball complex is a huge boon. A lot can be done with that space.

My best Mizzou memories were in Hearnes, throwing pennies at the OU fans, beating some kU teams, watching Peeler, Smith and crew do their damage.

But the memories will survive the demolition of the building.

I loved Hearnes...but it truly is a pretty big waste of space now.

Should build the new volleyball/wrestling arena next to Mizzou arena. You would gain more parking and be more tailgating friendly by making Lots O/N the new arena.

I hope this ends up with a huge amount of parking adjacent to Faurot and any new building gets built on the opposite side of the lot. It would really improve the game day tailgate atmosphere to have a large contiguous parking area just outside the stadium. Anyone who has tail-gated at Arrowhead knows what I'm talking about.

I agree. This would be awesome. They could create a horseshoe effect with the facilities and have the parking lot in the middle. It would create a cool atmosphere for every event as well as ease of access.

I'm not sure what they'll do, but whatever it is needs to be done with an eye first towards recruiting. Let's face it. Faurot kind of sucks. I could go on and on about the issues, but you all know.

Any South EZ project should be connected to the stadium and done in such a way that it improves the scope of our venue. A complete demolition and rebuild of the South EZ is in order....along with several other things, but it's a start. Or a good continuation of what we did on the East side.

No dissing the memories you guys have of Hearnes I spent many great times there as well. If you though have been there the last few years though the place is not in great shape. Heck basic things like AC for the offices of the Olympic sports don't even work. It just needs replaced.

Money. Money for these projects is needed. If you are not attending games, you are part of the problem IMHO. Mizzou has a darn good product on the field. I want to see cranes in the air for the next five+ years. I want a SEC FB Champ and Natty in my lifetime. That takes $'s.

I hope there is some green space in their plans. We need some grass we can tailgate on around the stadium. I love that at other venues.

Sounds like Rhoades is ready to kick arse and take names up there. I love it.
