the shitshow on campus was a huge story and it would destroy the entire university. It would never go away and yada yada.

Well, fast forward a couple of months and Ole Miss is under NCAA investigation, LSU is leaking money like a sieve and may go into a shutdown and UT is in the midst of a rape scandal with seemingly a new player arrest everyday.

All we need is a Bielema sex tape and we'll be completely in the clear.

The nation may be over the whole Mizzou thing, but I'm still seething about it. Mizzou has a long way to go to earn my trust back.

Yeah I don't get that. Wolfe had the support of the board the entire way and resigned anyway. He was by most accounts an excellent administrator but when things got political he bailed. Was about a bunch things he could have done differently, but it wasn't his thing. Why take it out on the university?

I think Lofton was a big problem for him and Wolfe became a fireman putting out the fires Lofton set. So imagine he was busy when wolves were at the door and he got tired of the crap. Lofton was been the guy who gets to go quietly and Wolfe has been the scapegoat. The thing that gets me is that Lofton was done early in the fall and he was able to out maneuver Wolfe.

Click is about to get "clocked". There was a formal complaint filed yesterday? Somethin like that and now they can move to fire her...... If they so choose.

So we aren't completely out of the spotlight. We just have company now.

That's absolute bullshite.
He could have met with the group and most likely smoothed it over. That originally was the group's only demand, b4 any protests. Dude could not deal well with things that were not numbers.
He also could have taken a hard line. Would have been the equivalent a partial death penalty for the football team and the team would have sucked for a very long time which would give the old white people something to really bitch about but he could have. Board is on record as supporting that.

As system president, that's not his job. The Chancellor should have been the person responsible for doing that, and how Loftin was able to pass all the blame onto Wolfe is pretty amazing. The Chancellor is in charge of campus affairs and the buck should have stopped with him in this whole incident.

I must say, Loftin royally fricked up a lot at this university. I was ecstatic when we hired him, but he ended up making one blunder after another...

And I'm not defending Wolfe necessarily. He definitely could've done some things differently. I'm just saying he never should have been drug into the situation to begin with.

Cmon, man. We weren't all born yesterday. No campus protest is solved through "simply meeting." You could've met every single demand they presented and they would've still axed him to resign. They're petty terrorists.

Exactly. He could have easily followed the example from Ole Miss, or Oklahoma. GET OUT IN FRONT and control the situation. He didn't have to believe the allegations or even give a shite, but you have the meeting in order to control the issue. Instead he left it to the protestors and the media to control the issue. You don't let a bunch of kids and the media dictate the image of the University!

Yup, Wolfe fricked the situation up beyond belief. It's almost beyond comprehension how ignorant he was in the beginning stages of this whole ordeal.

You mean Middleton and Loftin did. They were in charge of the things the protesters were complaining about. Wolfe got blindsided by this BS, as he should of. No system President has ever been expected to deal with the things the protesters were suggesting.

No, I mean Wolfe. The only thing, and I mean only thing, he had to do was simply acknowledge the group/their concerns and put forth some effort to rectify them. That's it. Even the bare minimum effort on his part would have averted this entire shitshow. Instead, what does he do? He ignores them. Refuses to acknowledge them, and could even be argued he provoked them.

The blame lays squarely on his shoulders. He could have nipped this in the bud, but inexplicably he chose not to.
