Lot of work of offensive skills. I like that.

Man there's a lot in there that can be taken in a lot of different ways.

quote:

I kind of like the pieces or I do like the pieces.
Not sure how thrilled he is about the pieces.

quote:

Q: You’re almost in a best-available situation?

A: I think you are when you get into this time of year.

That just doesn't scream to me that he got the guys he wanted. It screams that settled for who he could get at this point.

quote:

Q: Going back, as far as Russ goes, is he somebody who you feel like can be a 5 man?

A: I hope so.

I mean is it just me or is he just about as equivocal as can be about who he's bringing in. I really anticipated that he would have been a bit more enthusiastic about the guys coming in.

quote:

While concerning, I think when it got down to it, it was the best available player, and that’s kind of the direction that we went.

More on Woods and maybe I'm reading this wrong, but that just sounds like "Well we missed out on every guy we really wanted (Bryant et al.) so we just took the next best guy available."

Is good to hear their workouts seem to be going good, working on shooting and offense, that Clark is doing relatively well, and good to read some of the comments on Tate.

Normally, I think you are too hard on KA and you work to pick the negative out of everything he says or does. However, reading this I just don't get the sense of a confident guy or a guy with a clear plan. Lots of "maybe", "hope", "we'll see". IDK, probably not something I'd worry about coming off a good year but it just doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy. He basically said he knows we don't have enough bigs, but he took another guard anyway. Don't get it.

Contrast that with GP who is very concise and singular minded. Very clear plan and process to execute it.

I'll hope for the best, but when we couldn't add more down low I wasn't expecting much.

Really man? He rightfully deserved the criticism that reedus and others laid on him this season... then this recruiting cycle!?! This has the makings of another rough year.

Welcome to the party. Better late than never.

Maybe. I'm sure it comes across that way. Truthfully, what I'm hard on is the worst season in the history of Mizzou hoops. That sucked and it bugs me when people think it was ok. Maybe I'm wrong and should think this past season was ok too and just part of the process. It truly has nothing to do with KA. If Haith were the coach and we won 8 games, I'd be just as harsh. If Norm were coach and we won 8 games, I'd still say the program was currently in the shitter. I know it seems like it, but it really has absolutely nothing to do with KA and everything to do with where I see the state of the program regardless of who is at the helm.

I really think it's important, after this season, for KA to get out in front of things and convey more confidence in whatever his plan is. If they want to engage the fan base and get them to follow much less show up, he has to let them know that things will be better. And do it conviction. Show more confidence in your current recruits because if he doesn't it's just gonna make people like me question them all the more. Show more confidence in the fact that Isabell has changed instead of just saying "We'll see" and making people like me scratch their head on why we kept a "We'll see" on the team when they were suspended for 6 or 8 games or whatever.

Just my thoughts.

Yeah, what people don't get is he just happens to be the man at the helm. I have nothing against KA personally. Don't know the man. But, he was where the buck stops for the worst season in Mizzou history.

Too many people think it has to do with the name instead of the position. Too many make it a KA camp or a Haith camp or a MA camp or a Norm camp. It ain't any of that. It's an 8 win season camp and KA just happened to be the man that led the charge. I hope KA wins 30 next year. Just don't think it will happen. Nor 20. Nor 15.

I think it has to do with KA answering the questions honestly. As bad as things were they could have been worse. The heart of any program is recruiting andthe staff has offers out to players through 2018.

I'm not sure how it could have been much worse this year. I hope KA can turn it around but the way he answered some if these questions makes me think we're going to have another rough year and KA knows it.

I didn't get the negative vibe from that interview that most here seem to have gotten.

Mizzou is still probably a year away from being a winning/tournament team.

I was not thrilled with the Anderson hire, as many of us were not. I still hope he proves me wrong. I do think he has pieces to form a solid team next year. Maybe not a tournament but a team who should compete for a shot at it. The big three (Gant, Wright, Teki) all had good individual performances last year but have to do it together. I do not know the schedule for next year however I feel like 15 wins is what I need to see from KA to not want him fired. I just do not think he brings anything to the table aside from being a "Mizzou guy"
