The most vocal player in this meeting was a freshman?
HOLY CHRIST, FIRE ODOM IMMEDIATELY!
This is hard proof that the players have given up and that's 100% on the coaches.

The players only meeting is the first real hint of any kind of leadership we've seen this year.

Word.
When a fricking eighteen year old LB has to take charge, you know you're fricking skunked and running with a lame duck coach.
Kick Barry out the door now so we have plenty of time to salvage things and keep he good recruits the wanker was able to get like Foster.

From another thread, but really relevant here.
Another article with great points about player leadership (lack of) on the team.
LINK
Listed this year's seniors. Mostly guys that have not developed into solid players, much less playmakers. Some anti-leaders - Moore.
Of the group, Sherrils is the only one I have read about appearing to be pissed about the way things were going Saturday.
"Sherrils, Wilson, and Frazier tried to lead by example, and to be sure, the defense stabilized long before the offense did. But when you’ve got basically three seniors leading the way, you’ve got no senior leadership.
That’s not really this coaching staff’s fault — it inherited what it inherited. Obviously better coaching could lead to more success, which would in turn provide the evidence needed for good player leadership. But this is what happens when a winning culture stops winning. It becomes very difficult for even an experienced coaching staff to get that ship turned back around."

This staff was here last year, if they didnt see leadership they needed to develop it.
Contrary to popular belief leaders aren't born, but made through mentorship.

I've been mostly quiet about the embarrassment of the first 3 games because I live 1750 miles from Mizzou but this shite right here has me fired up. Blow the damn thing up and start over. Hopefully Sterk makes a great hire.

Really the only option at this point.
I remain confident in Sterk and his abilities.

I have no melt left in me. They'll either turn it around (lol), or they won't.
If Miller is the vocal leader. Let him play. Not like our LBs are setting the world on fire anyway.

Miller is a better athlete than what Mizzou has there. And if BO is actually going to simplify the defense then it might be best to have the superior athletes on the field

Honestly, if we are going to be bad, Id rather be bad with FR and SO than 5th yr Seniors.
Let's see Ulmer, Brooks, Miller, Turner, Byers, Rountree etc...
Youve already burned their redshirts. Lets get them in the game when it counts.

Many things were thrown at the meeting. None of them caught.

I hear Moore fumbled the opportunity to lead by example. That's how Miller ended up with the ball (leadership role).

I said it last year, there are cancers in the locker room. And until they are gone, it will ruin the whole core group.
luckily many of them leave after this season.

...
When a Freshman is the one trying to light a fire under some people's asses...
Yeah dynamite it. Addition through subtraction time and get rid of what folks have called "anti-leaders".
The good news is that, particularly with a new coaching staff, you have some young players getting a trial by fire this year. They will be better next year.

He should absolutely be getting a majority of the snaps. Everything points that direction. He is the only one that gives a damn. He's the future. He's better than anyone else.
