"We do what we do"

Not trying to fire Pinkel, but his arrogance drives me crazy. Here's one example:

Gabe DeArmond @GabeDeArmond
Asked about Tyler Hunt Pinkel says "it's typical people ask him about him after he has a 70-yard run but before that nobody says anything"

Did he honestly twist his lips to say that the fans and the media haven't said anything about playing Hunt more until that last long run?

Hunt's 72 yd. run

Yeah, I know a lot of the guys who cover Mizzou were like "What?!?!?" Where the guys that cover Mizzou lack balls is by not calling GP out on it. People have been crying for Hunt or Abbington since week 2.

it's amazing...Mark Richt knows fans are pissed, yet he says the right things and always seems to put UGA first. Spurrier left to give USCe time to find the best replacement to help the program.

Yet Pinkel is coming off as an arrogant prick. The AD hit a home run hiring Tom Herman at Houston. I hope he has the balls to look Pinkel in the eye and tell him he is not afraid to replace him, so enough of the attitude, now go fix the damn offense.

I guess I just don't get why you guys get so pissed about what he says?

Who cares? First, and you guys should know this by now, he's not exactly an eloquent speaker. Secondly, I'm sure he was pissed about losing again and came off surly.

Again though, what does it matter?

Richt has to do those things...or else.

Spurrier could be accused of abandonment.

Pinkel knows his seat is not hot. He has to make up his mind about coaching or retiring. Agree surgical, fix it now. Or I'll (AD) find someone who can proto.

AD should also remind Pinkel that those dollars to build the beautiful south end-zone project depend upon the on-field product. So, collections have sucked just like your offense.

I'm not one calling for GP. I did that in 2012 and see how I was wrong. Hell, I'm not even calling for Henson...yet. I am calling for Ricker.

But that comment was bullshite and I think people are just talking about it, venting about it, calling it what it is. That is what message boards are for after all.

Same here. But, like you, I am calling for Ricker. And maybe Henson, maybe not. I'm very concerned about the lack of progression in our WRs. I know they're young, but after this many games there should be some improvement. Some. I just feel like our WRs have gone steadily downhill since Andy Hill moved to QB coach.

If we lose Odom to a HC job, I'm pretty sure Henson stays - you don't want to lose both coordinators in the same off-season. I wish there was some way to succession plan and get Odom to stay with the understanding he's the next HC.

The receivers aren't bad as people like to say. Watch the routes and you will see all the wrs running straight routes and then turn around and tell me who can't cover that. One guy once and a while might run a slant. That's on Henson. They did the same thing last year, but you had more experienced receivers who could make the catch regardless, especially Sasser. I watched the game with a bunch of USC football alum including grumpy Charles White who criticized the non routes also. They were very impressed with Brothers, but thought that Lock stunk until I told them he was just a freshmen with a bad o-line.

The reason I believe what pinkel says matters is because, he called out the AD about not just caving in and giving his Asst. Coaches raises. They got their raises, so now where are the results?

He wants money for the South End Zone project. Again no problem, but he's also going to have to explain the shitshow and restore confidence.

You can't just ask, ask, ask and then when things are subpar become a prick. You're man enough to call people out on raises, be man enough to admit that they aren't living up to those raises. You want money for your program? No problem, but make people feel like you have a direction and plan, not just WDWWD, cuz for 2 years a blind eye has been turned on the offensive staff and what's being produced is crap.

It's not like he coaches for charity. He earns over 3 million a year, and it's too much to ask for a feeling of confidence that he will right the ship? I don't think so.

You should be praising him for getting a bigger asst coaching pool and two stadium renovations, and hopefully a new indoor facility.

These are things that matter. Concrete. Even if you think he sucks, these things are needed for any coach to be succesful.

That's what the "recruit better" crowd (not saying you specifically) has no grasp on. It's not as simple as that.

He didn't get stadium renovations, donations because of confidence in the programs direction did. Boosters make those things happen. Even if the team is 0-12, you better be making the Boosters feel like you would move Heaven and Hell to get back on top. That's how the system works.

Erode that confidence, and the only thing that will excite the Boosters is a coaching change. Coaches get fired because Boosters payoff contract buyouts. The AD can't touch Pinkel because the Boosters won't pay his buyout. But piss them off and all those big money alums who own car dealerships, cattle ranches, or work Texas oil or Wall Street will rally and he's out. Here in Omaha, Larry the Cable Guy jokes about using his "Prilosec" money to oust Pellini. Boosters rule in College Football.
