Perfect move for him. Seeya back at Mizzou in 5 years.

Expected, anyone with a brain could tell you this was going to happen.

Looking like we will find out which coach we get out of the AAC after next weeks game.

Why not just hire him now then?

I'd hope if we choose another guy over him that he'll be here longer than 5 years.

I don't see how Mephis offering Odom does anything to influence our search or remove him as a candidate here.

What do you mean?

As soon as Fuente announced, Odom's agent was going to leverage the obvious Memphis offer to keep him in the thick of things at Mizzou.

Rhoades is gonna be earning his paycheck over the next 48 hours.

Yeah but he won't be worrying about Odom. That ship has sailed.

I'm not sure the ship has sailed.

I'd say Odom is still top three. But I don't have a scoop. That's just a guess.

I agree. Richt had no HC experience when Georgia hired him.

Question: Has anyone heard Odom not referred to in exceptionally glowing terms by those in the game?

It sounds as if he's exponentially smarter than GP ever was, so what's he gonna frick up?

Plus he's already had three years of recruiting the mid-south which should be potential Missouri recruiting territory anyway.

I would take Richt in a heartbeat, but after that Odom easily beats these out of footprint, mid-major HCs in my book.

What do you mean that ship has sailed?

I don't think that is accurate at all. Odom is still very much in the running for the job.

Because the pattern for DCs to be successful in the power 5 is to start at a mid-major. Its been 16 years since a DC was successful in the power 5 as the first HC job.

I agree.
My wish list RN is:
1) Richt
2) Odom
3) Don't care

pretty irrelevant

I'm still wondering why you think the ship has sailed though. Other than you want it to have sailed.

Rhule is a major reach, but apparently MR is in Philadelphia right now talking to him. Prepare the cups guys

Yeah, there's no effective template for hiring a good head coach. If there was, it would be trademarked and sold. There's good coaches and bad coaches and some who pass for good coaches and bad coaches. And it's not always easy telling who is a Gene Chizik and who's a Steve Spurrier.

Rhule is another underwhelming, uninspiring choice. Geez. There has to be someone else MR is talking to. Please?
