Hopefully a set of balls was a resume requirement.

I love the Missouri Tigers, but with me being African American I would never allow my kids or grand kids to accept a scholly to play ball at Mizzou because of the right-winged radical and extremist reactions to last years boycott. When people tell me that I don't have the right to stand up for what I believe in and I'm not doing it in a violent way the heck with them. Dr. King was called a trouble maker for protesting and boycotting in a peaceful and effective way.

"Right wing radical and extremist reactions." - What?

Do you honestly believe the protests and the absolute sham of a hunger strike were for legitimate reasons? Do you believe the threats and demands that were made by the CS1950 were reasonable? What extremist conservative reactions have you seen?

Are you referring to the fact that thousands of fans are not attending our games when many in our administration promote safe places for adults rather than critical thinking and controlled dialogue? Please educate me on this right-winged radical extremism that has taken over taken our school.

So you think the reaction from right wing radicals would have been different at any other school?

Slow your roll majic...I meant the President should have had the balls to meet with the students whether he believed in their cause or not. Had he taken 1 hour of his time to meet with them, the whole mess would have been avoided. People forget, this started because he refused to have a sit down.

The problem with todays society is that we've lost the art of discussion and debate. So called leaders are so afraid to trade opinions with people they may disagree with.

Same type of demands that union workers make when they go on strike for better wages and better atmosphere and treatment on their job.

This whole thing was about students and players going to the higher uppers with their racial concerns on campus plus they had some off campus which the administration had no control over. This wasn't about Butler and his so-called hunger strike or Melisa Click. The players wanted this to be handled behind the scenes and not made public which ended up happening. The administrators swept their concerns under the rug and they had to become proactive in which they did. Isn't it strange that I understand their boycott and most of you guys don't. Go figure!

Back to football talk!

You seem like a nice guy. None of the above is accurate.

This doesn't even pass the laugh test.

WE ARE UNITED!!!!!"

If you're going to rewrite history, wait longer until at least some people have forgotten it.

The correct (and appropriate) response should have been, "Fine, fellas. You have the right to speak your minds. And, as you probably would agree since you won't be participating, the University will no longer participate in any football scholarship-related activities such as free tuition, meals, books, and housing."

Magic... You mentioned in a thread last week of racial incidents you experienced in your time at Mizzou.

Please share when you attended and what they were. I'd like to understand things from your perspective.

Disagree. If I were Pinkel (and it was feasibly possible) I would have said, "I repect and will support any players who feel passionately about the efforts of ConcernedStudent1950, but I also have an obligation to this university to prepare and coach a team for a game this Saturday against BYU. And we'll play the game with the remainder of our student-athletes".

It may not have been possible due to sheer numbers. But cutting off their scholarships would have been program suicide.

That was the meeting after the protest group was formed. Take a step back a few weeks when Wolfe refused to even schedule a meeting. That's actually how he became the enemy. He wouldn't even acknowledge that they had concerns.

One meeting with a small group of students who felt disenfranchised could have prevented the mess. Just like at OU when Striker tried to flame the issue, they met, listened and got ahead of the issue so Stryker could not control it.

Don't get me wrong, a meeting doesn't solve the issue, but it would have allowed the adults to have control.

You're right. Wolffe could have ended this before it ever started. That's why I don't feel bad he lost his job. He's not very smart, for a man that's so intelligent.

Majic is trying to tell us something, and I think it would behoove us all to listen.

Reactionary tactics mean you aren't listening.

One only needs to go to TB and read some of the stuff being said about J'Mon to see that Majics point of view is valid here.

It's a giant mess, and it's set the program back at least a decade, maybe more.

It certainly has, but the fact that there are racists amongst our fanbase has nothing to do with it.

What's set our program back significantly is the fact we had a player protest. It's that simple.

Moore is taking on the chin because he is a me first punk. Gibson, Harris, Sherrills. All had a similar role in the protest. All black. None treated like Moore. That tells me he's not getting shite "because he's black" Hell, Gibson even sucks the majority of the time and he still doesn't draw the ire of Mizzou fans.

Fans want to win. They don't care if a guy is good or bad, black, white or orange.

It goes both ways man. To say it has nothing to do with it is wrong.

Majic just told you that.

I'm done going back and forth about it, this team sucks with or without the protests.

Im not saying it has nothing to do with it, but ask yourself why no one shits on Harris, Sherrills or Gibson?

If Moore played team ball and kept his head down and did the right things, it wouldn't be brought up. Just like it's not brought up with those 3. Instead...he pouts, quits on routes, starts fights, throws hissy fits on the field and that's just the stuff we see. Apparently, he's a malcontent behind the scenes as well.

It's on him. Nobody is treating him unfairly. In fact, despite these things he still remains a starter and gets more targets than any receiver on the team.

We still have black players and coaches. We are still recruiting a vast majority of black players. Where it hurt was with fans who aren't showing up to the games. Now, a lot of that has to do with the team sucking. If we were winning it will be different. Once (if) we get back to winning, it will be different.
