Ellerbee from Arky State.

No P5 experience, but has a few years as co-coordinator at smaller schools.

ASU averaged 230 ypg and almost 5 ypc last year.

They put up 20 points on us this year. Looks like his profile was decent for having a completely new set of starters last year, something we will have this year.

It's a very good hire imo.

Other positions I would be more concerned with recruiting ability, but OL is so technique driven I wanted a guy with a history of success at this spot. Also was their co-OC.

Odom put together a great staff for a first time HC

Sounds like he can recruit pretty good which is super important.

Math major - so he can solve problems. And the OL is a major problem. Pun intended.

Turned down Maryland OL job.

I'm in. Welcome Coach Elarbee.

Edit: He is the original "sign guy". Those big signs they hold-up on the sidelines. He help develop at Okie State.

Inventor of the giant play cards on the sideline. Did that as a 28 year old GA at OSU.

Do people think this was Odom's first choice?

Doesn't matter, I know. Just curious.

No, but it's rare to get your first choice for a position coach.

Odom appears to be doing a good job of putting good people around him. So far I am fairly impressed with his efforts.

Did you type this with a straight face? Mizzou held Arkansas St to 217 yards of total offense, I think under 50 yards in 2nd half. 45 carries for 93 yards rushing, 15 tackles for loss. Arkansas St scored because of 2 terrible Mauk INT's and then 2 incredible 3rd and goal TD catches by their WR after the very short fields.

Arkansas St did do very well vs pretty much every other team.

12th in scoring offense, 15th in rushing offense, 37th in total offense

Can he teach guards to at least get in front of big guys lined up on their inside shoulder?

Do you think he will drop the "turnstile" technique Ricker appeared to drill into the guards?

Seriously, I hope fans find themselves asking "Why wasn't this guy playing last year?" about 500 times this year as the O Line rebounds in a big way.
