This one makes me nervous. A lot of prosecutors want you to plead to that felony and take a form of probation that clears your record once you successfully complete probation. Some will amend the felony to a misdemeanor drug charge. I've always heard that Boone County is tough to deal with. He needs a connected attorney.

Any update on this? The court date was yesterday. Wondering if his suspension will turn permanent.

Good deal. He's finally hired an attorney. Now hopefully he can negotiate that felony down to a misdemeanor and get a quick resolution.

Plea hearing today at 9 for Howard at request of his attorney. His original date of Aug. 9th for misdemeanor case review has been moved up.
This looks like a deal has been struck and this won't be dragged out after the start of camp.

I somewhat understand a plea bargain, but I often chuckle at the logic. If you're caught possessing mushrooms, how can you plead not guilty of having possessed them?

Next hearing is now August 24. Don't count on Howard playing this season, even if he can plea it down to a misdemeanor.
