Any word on which way he is leaning? He would be a good one to keep.

I think it depends on who you talk to.

Fuller said on 810 this morning that he was going to have a face to face with him soon and that he thought he would still come to Mizzou.

Probably further away than here, has a meeting to speak to Coach Anderson.

Said either way though he wants out of his signed letter of intent and is going to open his recruiting back up.

Yeah, it sounds like the UCLA handlers have gotten into this one and did so before Kim Anderson was even hired. With UCLA having a spot opening up at shooting guard with a kid going pro and now the Bruins targeting Namon, this was probably gonna be tough to hold onto even if Haith and Phelps were still here. Unfortunate, but against a program like that in a city that UCLA owns it just seems like Anderson and Fuller could do everything perfect on their visit to him on Tuesday, and still the second they leave the kid will again be inundated by the UCLA machine. Very tough to combat. Oh well, all the same, we interwebs fans will know who to blame, so let me be the first to post it:
FIRE ANDERSON!!! YAAARRRRRRR

I never heard this. He signed a LOI with Haith and Phelps. Why would anything have changed up until Haith left?

If Wright leaves, while a small disappointment on Anderson's inability to keep him, it obviously falls on the feet of Haith leaving more than who the new coach is. But I had heard zero rumblings before Haith left that he was going to ask out of his LOI. Can you point me anywhere where it was being speculated that he was leaving even before Haith left?

I think he was being over dramatic on purpose.

Namon requested permission to ask out of LOI this past Friday or Saturday, before a Mizzou coach had been officially named, meaning he was indeed ready to jet b/c his recruiter Phelps and Haith were gone. Sometime prior to that, UCLA lost a shooting guard who declared for the draft (I would assume had to be finalized the same day we heard Jabari was officially not withdrawing since that was the deadline) and now UCLA is looking around for a new shooting guard. So based on the Jabari timeline that's been what, a couple weeks right? And Haith bolted pretty quickly after Jabari leaving became official, so its hard to nail down for sure if Namon/UCLA interest started before, after, or during Haith's departure.

In terms of it being tough to hold on if Phelps and Haith were here, my point is the UCLA interest in Namon has sprung up within the past few weeks. That UCLA interest would still be there even if Haith/Phelps were here and would still be difficult to fend off since UCLA is the glamour school in the city Wright lives in. He did not have a UCLA offer when he committed to and signed his LOI with Mizzou, so the Bruin interest is a new dynamic to his recruitment.

I didn't think you could get out of your LOI unless the coach left? In any event, if UCLA is on him you can't blame a kid for wanting to play in his backyard. Well, I mean I can and will, but it won't do any good.

Nah, I don't think Wright was going anywhere before Haith bolted. All the UCLA talk started heating up after he bolted. At this point, yes, will be tough to keep him, and why I said only a small disappointment if Anderson can't get him to stay. There's still a part of me that thinks Wright just wants/likes all the love he's getting again from Mizzou fans on twitter and otherwise. Can't blame him for that.

That's good news. I'd think if it didn't go well, he would have said "Look coach, it's been great talking to you, and I'll still consider Mizzou, but I'd like my release." and we would have heard something already.

He had already said he wants out either way and to open it back up; if that sentiment had changed think it would have come out.

He doesn't like ucla, apparently there's bad blood in the water, but I know Utah is targeting him.

Seems to me he didn't like Howland. Not sure about UCLA. I'm assuming he falls into the group of AAU players/teams/coaches that Howland pissed off. I haven't seen anything indicating he wouldn't consider them now with a new coach. If you have, would love to read it because I'd feel a lot better about our chances.

Seems strange that we've heard nothing yet though.
