It's still a long shot, even more so now with the Washington coaching hire, but, a few scenarios to watch out for.

1) We need a horrible horrible start to washingtons season. They will fire him if a bad start happens before MPJ chooses them. If he chooses them early, they will keep on to Romar regardless of play.

2) Trae Young. They want to play together, and only have 3 schools in common. I dont fear Virginia because its Virginia, but OU. Hopefully they find recruiting violations for Buddy.

I think we finish in his top 2, which will make things even worse. Think Tatum and SLU.

1. They aren't firing Romar even if they don't win a game next year. They know that one Porter has already committed and they're probably the leader for the other. Those 2 are game changers. Those two are gone if Romar/Porter are not there. They will wait a year for the fruits of Romar's relationship.

2. Virginia is light years ahead of Mizzou right now.

I think we are closer to number 5 than number 2.

I saw an interview where Porter named his top schools and he left out Mizzou and then he said in the end " oh yea, and don't let me forget Mizzou"

Doesn't sound too promising.

Mizzou basketball is about 10 years away from being good right now. Why would Porter choose us?

Because we're still closer to being good than udub, and could make an argument for OU

No matter where he goes, he's a 1 and done so you'd think that he would go to a place that would best showcase his talents and Mizzou should be that place. Why? Because we're a dumpster fire and he would singlehandedly lead us to 11 wins.

Yeah, I mean it's come to a point I'm so apathetic about hoops that I'm not even sure what good he would do us. A one and done just wouldn't do much for us imo.

He's not coming to Mizzou, but I disagree. If Mizzou did land a 5 star player like Porter, it likely would mean that a couple of others would join him. So the class could maybe consist of Porter, Tillmon, & Goodwin.
A team could make a deep tourney run with that type freshman class.
Get of support from guys like Phillips, Puryear, Walton, & Barnett and you have a very good team.

Just as important as bringing in players, getting a Porter would bring fans back and create a positive buzz about the program.

Yea had they pulled off Hiting the father then MPJ would be expected at Mizzou. Tolton played a few games on campus the last couple of seasons. The average attendance was somewhere between 8-10k for those HS games.
So yea fan apathy would have ended.

Sure, but so too has every Mizzou coach over the last 20 years.
Who was the last high profile in state kid that went to Mizzou? Probably McKinney, or Kareem Rush. That's a bunch of misses

If he heads to udub, it appears all KA had to do was hire his dad as a whatever coach.

Which as offered to the father. A&M also tried hiring him.

Exactly, if MPJ chooses a school (washington) that his dad's at, this has been a nightmare/disaster for KA.

Don't disagree. And that has to change and so far it doesn't seem KA was the hire to change that.
