Columbia Tribunes story

Was very impressed with Foley. Furthers my belief that he should become the permanent Chancellor. Showed strength in his latest statements about Click's actions being reprehensible, while also showing that he will not have a kneejerk reaction. Even if it is blatantly wrong, he will go through the process and not cave to public pressure. I am convinced he will make the right decision, and would be an excellent full time Chancellor.

Was NOT with Middleton. Becoming clear that he is a ardent supporter of CS1950 and the strikers. Was in charge of diversity for a decade leading up to the events that occurred. Obviously sucked at that job. Now he is interim President...somehow supposed to better the diversity relations? Needs to be replaced ASAP IMO.

Man who elected those guys? Why do we have bozos running out state?

This would go away if fans and legislature would let it.

See, the thing is, it won't. People are PISSED. Jason Whitlock has actually written some pretty decent articles on the issue. Missourians don't just let things like this go easily.

Whitlock J School Mizzou

I disagree with his characterization of Wolfe...but other than that, I think he is spot on. Particularly on the Newton's Third Law point.

That's my point though. We can learn from what happened and move on. Or make a big issue over what happened, not learn a thing, and have it continue to drag the university/state down.

Exactly, it will die when people associated with Mizzou/Missouri let it die.

Nobody else is all that interested anymore, but as a collective if we keep pushing it towards the forefront....

Yep, and I'm one of them. The schools reputation was trashed. And what was accomplished? Well, the school lib-tards removed their true target Loftin. And also got Wolfe as a bonus.

Weak leadership is the problem. And it starts with an inept governor, his appointed inept BOC and inept school leadership.

Time heals wounds. Just the way it is.

Nothing can be done to change it, but one thing that can be done is to stop rehashing it over and again.

Side Note, but further proof Loftin needed to go

Reinstating people Loftin got rid of.

Yea Loftin was a terrible chancellor, though I think he will be good in fund raising.

To fall in the camp of I'm tired of hearing about the bullshite. On both sides. Though I only hear about it from one side at this point. I just wish everyone would try getting laid for a change and move on. And that is for both sides. I swear the ones on both sides doing the barking have never gotten laid so they got nothing better to do with their time.

This was obvious from the very beginning. Middleton had a personal relationship with Butler before the strike and was in touch with him all along. He was handpicked as interim president by CS1950 so of course he's going to support their bullshite. Middleton is the worst thing for the university system right now.

I was very disappointed when Middleton was named interim President. He's obviously intelligent and has the credentials, but the man is a racist. Very arrogant, condescending, and a racist. He is not what is needed to repair the university's relationship with its disappointed alumni. And yes, I believe he supported and likely advised the protestors behind the scenes. Not in public, he wouldn't risk himself in case it all failed. But he was involved.

Meh, Middleton was put in place to appease one faction. The permanent replacement will be placed to appease the other faction. And life will go on with arrogant and condescending douche bags leading us all along because I don't think there's a single person sitting in a position like that that isn't that way.

Agreed, semo. I've never met him but I get very bad vibes from him. I think he's very biased in favor of the protesters who put him into power.

I'll try and put it in an analogy...you don't walk into someones house, destroy alot of their favorite stuff, and then expect to leave without anything happening and all being well. There will definitely be a response.

Over 80% of Missouri is white....and a hefty majority are pissed about this. This won't be dying for a LONG time. There will have to be some really drastic measures to put the unrest to rest.

Do you think dogs and fire hoses would suffice?

The hefty majority could not care less and think the outrage on both sides is dumb.

No, a majority of people don't even care or think about it. And that's whether they're black white or purple. They may have a position if asked but they don't even think about unless asked. It is the vocal minority on either side who keep this an issue

I'd have to second this sentiment. I don't know a lot of the ins and outs of college political stuff, but I got this impression when at the Mizzou BB game in KC. I was standing in line at the concessions and guess who walked up in line behind me? I had to take a couple looks but it was Middleton. He was with his wife and didn't talk to anyone and I wanted to ask the guy why he would be standing in a concessions line instead of diving on the spread I just know was in a suite in the arena somewhere. It just didn't make sense to me. But he just looked grumpy and not approachable. So I kept to myself and stuffed my git with some tacos.
