I have 2 tickets to Mizzou game this weekend, taking my 9 year old son to his first game.

Where is the best place to park? I don't have a pass

Are the free parking garages ok? Is there somewhere better?

Thanks

Get there at a decent time and I'd suggest parking in Virginia Avenue Garage. That's what I usually do

What is a decent time? We are driving from West County in STL

Do those free garages fill up quickly?

Thanks

I'd say about an hour before kick-off you should be able to get a spot

Last season I had no problem pulling into Virginia Avenue 15 minutes before kickoff and getting a spot, but the UConn game this year I got there 30 minutes before kick off and there literally wasn't a single spot (although it was family weekend).

I think if you got there around 10am you should have no issue getting a spot in Virginia. Otherwise you can try Turner Avenue or Conley Avenue garages but Virginia Avenue garage will be your best bet.

If you can't find anything else the downtown city garages and downtown MU lots (not city) are free and nearly always have spots. Only about 3 blocks further than Virgina Ave. Virgina Ave is the nicest though

Virginia Avenue (by lot X and the rec center) and Turner Ave (by the business school) garages are the best options for free garage parking. They will both fill up. I would want to be there a couple hours early (although this is an 11 AM game and people will be late).Downtown garages always have spots (Hitt St and University Ave Garage). You could also try parking in AV-14 (trowbridge livestock area), but forewarning that area had a different rule almost every game over the last few years (open, student, student/faculty pass required, open, etc..)

eta: or you can always pay to park in the garage by dobbs across from the stadium.

The three garages closest to the stadium that are free are Virginia Avenue, Turner and Conley. We usually park near or in Mark Twain Hall lot because surface area lots are so much easier to get out of after the game.

If you don't have a pass but don't mind paying and your son is young enough that you don't want to walk, they do use Maryland Ave garage as a paid garage that's just a couple of blocks from the gate. I want to say they charge $20 for that, and if you get there by 10am I would think they'll have spots remaining. It's attached to the hospital (via underground tunnel).

Good info to know fellas.

Usually we just park on Stadium Blvd. and make the long hike up the hill. Don't do that. Last year we said F-it and paid for the $25 lot for the UGA game.

I got scared for a minute when I saw 11am kick off time then I realized we were talking about this week and not the Florida game that I am going to. Thank god that is a night game because we'll be leaving St. Louis that morning. Flying in to watch Game 1 of the NLDS the night before.

I would stay away from the garages. It takes forever to get out of those and most of them charge?

If you don't mind a walk I would park at the lot (free) at Elm and 5th Street. Lots of people tailgate in that lot. I am surprised they haven't yet made that a pass lot You get to walk through campus if you park up there too and it is basically a straight shot south to the stadium.

If you park up there stop by W lot on your way back and say hi. We will be post game tailgating.

Only two of them charge.. and they are not that bad to get out of. Downtown garages are extremely easy to get out of. They do not fill up and most people that park down there are not leaving immediately after the game.

Yeah, sucks when Tigers and Cardinals play at the same time.2 years ago had to find a bar that was willing to show both games during the World Series.
