Great??? True Son, darn good player and wish him the absolute best.
But, he never should have had his number retired. Just a side effect of the frickin' Bab years.

He set the all time rushing record!!! How is that not great? We could debate in retropect whether his number should have been retired, like ken boyer of the cardinals, but he was a GREAT player.

The Mizzou days were super heady for him and for the program in general to that point.
Let 27 stay, forever.
I grew up with Brock.
Played ball with him when we were kids with his dad, got in trouble with him, etc.
Dude has always had a special kind of drive. It's always moved him forward.
He was "that dude".
I remember one weekend, had to be '98 or so, he was with the Lions. I was back home for XMas leave from the Navy, we got together for a park game.
I went over the top on him. Dude just didn't have the kind of vertical leap to stay with me on a pass like that.
Knocked me on my arse though.
We had a blast.
Dude could write up plays in a huddle.
I asked him why after a season of NFL football would he want to play football in the park, he just said...
"Because it's football."
