Mizzou baseball ranked #34

Highest I can remember them being ranked going into a season in quite some time. Love me some baseball but I think this might be a little high to start the season.

We didn't lose a ton offensively, but we didn't have a ton to begin with. We do return our top 2 starters but the 3rd starter and the midweek starter is a complete mystery at this point. We also lost a high quality closer.

However:

Houck is legit and did extremely well for Team USA over the summer.
Same can be said about Howard at SS.
I do like the energy that Harris brings.
Benes will hopefully find himself with a full season playing.
Ring brings the same speed at CF as he always has.
Bond certainly seemed legit all last season. He may move to 1B.

Maybe the offense will be better than I think they'll be. If De Oca and his 98 mph fastball lives up to his potential, it could really be a lethal set of weekend starters.
