And he did it against his former team too. Part of me wishes the Cardinals signed him.

Great accomplishment.

Should we start a protest since a white guy oppressed some AA players?

Wood's 20 strikeout game is still the goat.

What confuses me is they don't go all in on Sherzer but they do on Price the next year?

Fair point. But when Scherzer was available the rotation was still stacked. When Price was a FA the rotation had thinned out a bit with Miller traded, Lynn out with surgury, Wainwright coming off an injury, and Martinez being shut down.

Goog point, but Scherzer is a #1. Everyone including Wainwright moves down if he comes in. Price was offered alot of money and his numbers as of late don't put him in front of Wainwright or even Wacha.

Maybe it's because they didn't want to end up empty handed (like it turned out), but if thats the case why no play for Cespedes?

The year he was a FA Wainwright was still a better pitcher, so he would not have bumped him down in the rotation. I guess you could argue Lynn could have been dealt to make room for him. Mozeliak was all in on Heyward at that point, he likely knew he couldn't afford both Heyward and Scherzer. Cespedes is a good player as long as he stays in RF, but I'd say the combination of Piscotty and Moss have equaled his production for a fraction of the cost.

Here's to Scherzer winning consecutive Cy Young awards. And throwing more no hitters.
