Kim Anderson was not made aware of the NCAA investigation when he interviewed for the #Mizzou head coaching job.

Like Kim or not, that's a load of shite from Alden. Thank god he is gone.

F*ck Mike Alden. Dude was the worst thing to happen to Mizzou in a long time. One good hire in GP, everything else he touched turned to shite. Glad he's gone, hopefully they drove him to the border and told him not to come back.

Actually it makes more sense now why he hired Kim Anderson.

He would possibly have been f'ing over a "name" coach.

I am not doubting it but how do we know KA didn't know? KA would have taken it regardless. I just didn't see it any where.

A "name" coach in the know would probably have already heard rumors. KA may not have from the D2 level, don't know. Regardless, that was a shitty move.

You would think though if the others heard rumors KA would as well as he is an alum and knows many close to the program and he was at Central Mo.

What I read I took to mean he wasn't aware of the actions. Not that he was unaware of the allegations made by the NCAA once they informed Mizzou. I could have read it wrong. Was on my phone.

I wish someone would mistreat me with $1m/year for essentially rolling the basketball onto the floor.

Does KA even run designed plays? I can't tell from watching the games.

He said he was unaware of any investigation.

I know Kim is not the most sympathetic figure right now, but that is highly unprofessional by Alden to put it mildly.

The Mizzou compliance said that they weren't allowed to share the info of being investigated to prospective coaches.

Yep. It makes you wonder how much lower the basketball program has to fall. But I do know one thing. I know that I had no idea we played Arky the other night and no idea what the final score was until the next day.

The feeling was glorious.

There you go. Why Alden couldn't tell KA.

I really don't understand the hatred of Alden. The Quin hire had the Coach K stamp of approval. Doesn't get much better than that. Mike Anderson was a solid hire. Can't blame Alden for his leaving. Haith hire wasn't the best, but he performed well considering. Alden didn't hire the dirty piece of shite Fuller. Haith did. Screw Haith, not Alden for this. KA hire was coming from over his head. Once he couldn't get Gregg, boosters made him hire KA. That is just a reality.

All the while doing incredible work for fundraising in the athletic department, hired Pinkel, and got most of the non-major sports to "good" levels.

It's because he failed to hire a worth while coach 3 times probably 4 times. I don't want to here, no one has a crystal ball. He was paid to get it right and he didn't. I don't care how good Quinn was supposed to be. He was an unproven guy who was hired of the proven guy in Bill Self. The Mike Anderson hire was nice but he always had one foot out of the door and stopped recruiting. Frank Haith was a giant train wreck and maybe worse then Kim Anderson. 2 of the coaches he hired had problems with NCAA and the violations weren't worth it bc he didn't win anything worth of note.

How do we know it wasn't Mike Alden who told them to not share that information with the coaches. I am guessing the NCAA had no problem with them sharing it. Alden may have not wanted them to know worried they would shy away from the job.

Self was still at Tulsa. Quin was Coach K's top assistant, and had every assurance from the best college basketball coach of all time. Self's best year at the time was a 23-10 year where he made it to the 2nd round.

Mike did a great job here, with exception to his last few months. You can't worry about a hire being on the way out. He was here for 5 years. He got passed over by Arky after his first year here. Can't worry about a guy leaving to go home like that.

Frank was a panic hire. Everyone knows what it was. Seemingly without Fuller, it might have been a decent time. But no mistaking, he was successful, even if he was dealt a great hand.

No one got Gregg Marshall. It was then all boosters. Sorry.

At the time Self's overall record was 97-76. Syders was 0-0. Mike Anderson was always looking else where and dropped the ball in recruiting for 1 year, Maybe 2. Frank was a panic hire. But he was paid to not make the those mistakes. Frank Haith was successful at pulling the last brick down on the MU basketball program, that led the boosters to bring in KA to help solve the problem. Sorry you don't see the crap that Alden brought in but look at the product on the floor bc of all his bad hires.

That's the biggest load of bullshite I've ever heard. They may have told them not to share details with anyone, but they have no authority to tell Mizzou not to share that there is an ongoing investigation with prospective coaches.

Even if they did, why would they do that.

That's some serious arse covering right there because they realize how bad it looks.

Alden is the common thread in the Mizzou BB program soap opera and collapse. Alden should lose his new "safe place". He should be shown the door now.

LINK

In BenFred's article today in the StL P-D:
Mizzou Compliance: These internships never should have happened. Compliance departments are supposed to vet such things before players even show up to start the program. The ball dropped by compliance was cited as a Level II violation. Proper protocol could have prevented the singular Level I violation from occurring.

Head(s) should roll at Mizzou Compliance now also. They didn't do their job(s).
