As a St. Louisan, I would rather this game be restarted than the beakers. I know KCers feel different though.

I get why people wants these games but it steals a home game from CoMo so not sure if it's a really great idea.

It only benefits Illinois. We win...so what, Chicago area recruiting is still owned by the Big 10 and Notre Dame. We screw up and lose, and he has ammo to come into St. Louis. No thanks.

Every two years. Otherwise it turns a road game into a pseudo home game and that's IF it's played in St Louis which technically doesn't have a football stadium.

I loved it. Went every year.

Lovie not exactly off to a great start, he does not do radio interviews.

if you plan on recruiting st.louis, So.Illinois, etc, u better get your arse on these local stations. Not doing so, will be the death of areas when it comes to recruiting.

Eh. Obviously it's a bigger deal in STL than the rest of the state, but playing Illinois doesn't really move the needle for me. It kinda feels like playing Oregon State or Rutgers or something.

That being said, the beakers can go to hell. I don't want to play them again either.

I think Lovie may turn that program around, people realize this, and are afraid to commit to that series because of the Illini's future potential under Lovie.

People are scared of what Lovie may do at Illinois.

Do it! We have Great momentum in St Louis right now. Bet on BO and do a 4 game series with them:
Columbia
St Louis
Champaign
St Louis

If you are afraid of losing to him and losing momentum guess what they could just as easily do? Play Iowa in the Dome every year and claim it as a B10 city. Better to control what you can and beat their arse there than watch Iowa do it.

I don't see a benefit to playing either school. These are games we're supposed to win. We're getting great athletes from ESL and eastern Kansas. The occasional loss might help those schools gain a foothold.

That school to the west would hurt our strength of schedule. Illinois is an unsuccessful P5 program at this point. If we're going to play a P5, schools like West Virginia are better as are good Big 10 opponents.

Maybe we should introduce the beakers to the Illini.

I rather watch Illinois vs Mizzou in St.Louis than Delaware St vs Mizzou at CoMo.

Do people seriously want us to play 8 SEC games, Kansas/Illini, a directional school, and an FCS cupcake as our annual schedule?

That's basically wishing any hopes of ever getting in a New Year's Six bowl goodbye so we can play dull games in front of 40,000 fans at an NFL stadium.

Nebraska would be 10x better. Damn I miss real rivalry games

If we could pull this off without losing a home game, I'd be for it. But 6 games a year minimum need to be played in CoMo. Home football games pump too much money into the local economy, the city/hotels/merchants/restaurants stand to lose millions. I don't mind playing the occasional game in KC or St. Louis - but I hate to see games leave Columbia.

OOC strength of schedule does not matter. We play in the SEC.

They wanted out of the game because they were tired of getting it pushed in on ESPN or ESPN2 the first game of the year.

The only reason Lovie wants this game is to get a foothold back in STL.

Screw them.

Exactly.

Nubbers in kc would be great.

No reason to play kU or the Illini.
