Jackson & maybe Smith/Barnett should be instant contributors/upgrades to what we have next year.

They won't be. Jackson isn't as good as Walton. Smith won't be in the lineup more than a few minutes a game next year. Barnett may contribute. But it won't be next year in any meaningful way. And by "meaningful," I mean getting us to .500.

Barnett can't even play until 2nd semester right?

Yeah, he's not gonna change things next year at all.

Having said that, I'm ok giving Anderson one more year. And then after that year turns out exactly like we know it will, we can tell all those boosters that foisted him upon us that they obviously don't know shite about basketball.

Yeah. Second semester.

I expect to lose one or two from this year. Isabel needs to go. He will be better off somewhere else. And it won't really hurt us. Walton is the one that worries me. He has some talent. But if I were advising him and he could land somewhere else (even a high mid major), I'd tell him to go.

Really depends on the definition of a number 1 is. This team lacks that. They need someone that they can play off of. So they need a guard that can score 15+ ppg, while shooting 40% from 3.
That player would essentially end the 5 minute period in each half where teams go in their big runs.
If KA doesn't land that player by this summer, next year won't be much better than this year.

Disagree Jackson has really impressed me in the games that I have seen. Though he and Walton don't play the same position. Walton is a 2, Jackson is a 3. Jackson has a better outside shot than Walton at this point, and will help in rebounding.
I've only seen Smith play once, but he's tall and very athletic, also a 4 not a 5. He can help protect the paint next year.
Defense is where the signed players can all make their impacts next year.

Jackson is playing low level HS competition for the most part. Not an impact player next year.

That not accurate. He had a 20 point 19 rebound performance against Huntington Prep. Also has played several other games against top level teams. The only game that he hasn't looked great in was when he played La Lumiere Academy, which has Tillmon on it.

Agree about Isabell. Frankly, I am to the point of thinking Gant has to go, and I was a huge Gant fan coming in. That was Gant's second arrest if I remember correctly plus if I read things right, he was part of the reason for the current post season ban. I get the angst with Haith over the NCAA problems, but there were players involved to that created it.

Puryear, Walton and Phillips are must keeps after the season. Puryear won't go anywhere. Phillips likely won't have other legitimate options. Walton would concern me much like J3 and Teki.

The rest of the players can be replaced with guys from the rec center.

There is absolutely no freshman coming in next year who can do that. There is absolutely no player on the radar for the following year that Missouri has a legitimate shot at, unless you still believe they have a shot at Porter.

It is accurate. They've played some very good teams and they've played some teams that are absolute duds. His AAU team features him as a role player. I'd expect the same next year from him.

Unless Porter just really wants to stay home and be around his family for a year he's not going to Mizzou.
And unless KA can land a go to scorer next year won't be much different than the last 2.
This roster lacks talent in a big way.

Smith weighs like 185 soaking wet at 6'11. No way he has the body to compete at this level next year. Our team is not only out talented, they are so much smaller and weaker than all our opponents it's insane. I thought KA brought in the former Spurs trainer, but the guy hasn't remade the bodies of any of our guys so idk what's going on there.

I was skeptical of Smith until I saw him play in person against Nixa earlier this year. He's not a banger, and if used that way he will get pushed around. Offensively his sweet spot is about 15 feet out. He has good range, not 3 point range yet. Although I see him making his biggest impact on defense and rebounding next year.

I just really don't think KA will be back next year. I can't see how he would be. I've read rumors online that we're targeting Romar from UW as his replacement for next season. Romar is Porter's godfather and would virtually guarantee we get the Porter boys to stay home, which would be a quick way to get this all turned around.

There is all kinds of wrong with this. Romar is not that good of coach. Secondly it would probably help us get the younger Porter but Michael is not coming here. I have been told by someone close to Michael that he is probably going to Kansas and he has never been that interested in us but just added us since we were the home town school. We have seen over the years where schools have hired a coach to get a recruit and it never works out. Then the school is suck with a coach they really didn't want.

Romar would also be nuts to leave UW for us.

Crickets? I think they left the bandwagon too. All I hear is a lonely wind...
