MSU will get Howland.

Bama will throw 7 million a year at Marshall.

I wish we would have hired Howland, but I understand why they didn't.

Bama isn't getting Marshall

Oh, I know. But Bama being Bama and all that money and even more now with the SEC Network, the thought had just crossed my mind that if anyone was going to throw stupid money at him outside of the blue bloods, it's Bama.

Bama is top 20 in men's basketball profit. If they wanted to throw the bank at him, they certainly could.

Yeh Bama just needs to go on past Marshall. He's a BB god and the king of south central kansas Plus makes all the money he needs at WSU. It will be years before GM decides to move.

Now watch Bama get him this year.

A guy like Marshall is smart enough to know that the BBall program will be a distant 2nd fiddle to football. It is equal to or less than a good mid-major like Dayton or Wichita St right now.

Just saw this on tRant. Bama gonna throw $$$ at Marshall. Why am I not surprised. How frustrating will it be if it were actually to happen. I don't see Marshall going to Bama, though. Not for $3 million. They buck that up to $5 million and maybe.

I don't see Marshall leaving Wichita State unless it's for a true blue-blood type of job like an Indiana, North Carolina or Kentucky.

He's proven Wichita State can make a Final Four and have a ton of success. He's starting to make significant in-roads in recruiting. Wichita State is a much bigger name in the Kansas City metro area compared to two or three years ago --- and he's gotten some metro kids. Some of those KCMO/JOCO kids can help keep his program stacked for a while in terms of winning the MVC.

Add in Charles Koch being a big-time donor and I'm not sure he'll leave Wichita until it's for a special job.

Just mentioned this on the bama board. Forgot about the Koch bros being in wichita. Will definitely take something special to get him.

Blue blood or high ceiling job.

Quote from Marshall:

"If Alabama's still interested in talking to us with some type of crazy offer, at that time, we will certainly entertain that," Marshall said. "But it's going to take some type of crazy offer to get us to leave Wichita State."

That is a completely different tone than he had with Mizzou. Watch Bama back up the truck. I was just half joking when I first said it, but now it seems it's almost a reality.

The number being thrown around is $3 mil. I bet it takes 5+ to even entertain it.

Marshall is leaving WSU this year most likely. He doesn't want a blue blood job where there has been a coaching legend. He wants to be in a P5 conference with all the money and facilities to compete against anyone.

Bama has a great shot at landing him. Mizzou almost had him last year but the timing just wasn't right.

Bama's facilities suck.

It would make no sense for him to take that job, but if they throw stupid money at him...

Suck is probably a bit strong. Plus, I could see Bama willing to spend the dough for a new place if that's what it takes. I see them willing to spend the dough to have royalty in the 2 major sports.

Plus, they can dump a ton of money on him and not have to worry about Saban if I remember his salary correctly. If Mizzou paid him what it would have taken, GP would have needed a raise because football > basketball.
