He's the guy that will stick around for awhile and grow.

Maybe 2 or 3 years before he's a lottery pick.

I've been watching some MPj vids and noticed how JP plays. Skills for days, but looks green. I like green talent. Sure, HIS vids look great, but it's interesting to watch him in the flow of the game while watching some other videos of Nathan Hale HS.

Little bit weak for his size. Gets pushed around. Skills are on point though.

Dude might be the future once he figures it all out. I really, really would like to see him and Gonzo put it down for ol' Mizzou.

I watched some of his high school videos also, especially the game videos and I totally agree with your assesment. All the skills in the world, but sometimes he's a lil passive. But, before he leaves college he will be a lottery pick.

Under the assumption he comes no matter what, do we want him to reclassify for this year? Or is it better for him to add some bulk and learn to impose himself and use this scholly for another post player?

Jontay can play in college right now. I'm not sure how much he develops in 1 more year playing all the small schools around Columbia.
The reasons for us to not want him to reclassify would be if Cuonzo can get better bigs than Jontay(unlikely) or if MPJ would really stay a second year in college to play with his brother (also unlikely)

I think he'd be ok, the point about playing another year in high school in mid mo is valid.

I'm positive he'd be better than Woods was this season.

There is also that, cause he's 17.

This is correct, He said as of this weekend he plans on staying in HS but things could change.

Need a juco/5th year center.

Should we dare read this to mean MPJ may stay 2 years?

If he does that a final four may really be in our future!

no. no no no.

I get why we should think that, but no way. unless he flat out sucked(to his expectations).

If Jontay was able to reclassify, why wouldnt he? In the NBA world, one year is big. starting a year early, plus 3 years of college would be be ideal for him. And he would get to play with his brother. Also he would fill a big need for mizzou

Usman Haruna Bismark College. 7'0" from Nigeria. Why can we not have a "Nigerian Nightmare" ???

Jontay is recently on record saying he may not reclassify yet he wants to play with his brother. Something isn't adding up.

As I see it the pro game will be there for MPJ regardless. The fear of injury factor isn't like it used to be. Guys come back all the time from horrible knee injuries.

I know I am dreaming but it is the off season. I hope the kid sees the value in staying in college and living the life for a year or two. Once he goes pro he will be rich but will be living a jet traveling city to city.

I have done the traveling gig. I don't care how nice your hotel is it gets to be a grind.

If he leaves Mizzou with a final four as his legacy he will be BMOC in CoMo forever.

Bismark State Community College. Not a powerhouse but ...

Would also like to look at Josh Boutte 6'7" from Dodge City CC who originally signed with UNC-Wilimington and Shakur Juiston 6'7" from Hutchinson CC (just crowned JC champs on Saturday). Both double figures in scoring and rebounds per game. Need some 6'7" guys who can score to help out.

Should have figured it was a CC. Thought this was a d2 or d3 and he wanted a shot at D1

6'7 players aren't really the need for Mizzou. MPJ, Barnett, & Puryear are all in that range.
Mizzou needs size with athleticism. Or size with strength to battle down low in the SEC. And Mizzou needs a couple players that can score on the perimeter. Mizzou ranked 337 out of 351 in 3 point percentage.
