Crazy turnaround indeed. But, wasn't this expected?

Yes it's been expected most of the summer.

I hope Cuonzo adjusts his offensive philosophy to take advantage of all these players.

A lineup of Phillips, Robertson, Barnett, and Porter X 2 would be great in a 5 out offense.

Or Cuonzo could go wither Porter x 2, Tilmon, Phillips and Robertson and play similar to Virginia. (I hope he doesn't take Virginia's approach, it's not as fun to watch)

I'll be honest, I'm not much of a basketball guy. I haven't watched an MU game since probably 2002-3. But, this seems like an exciting team and time. I just might watch a few games this year. Honestly, I don't know enough about BB to have much of an opinion. But, I hope it leads to some positivity for MU

Realistic expectations...Sweet 16. They will have to jell quickly to make a serious Final 4 run.

Im in the same boat zoutiger. The last tiger bball game i watched was the loss to to norfolk st. I had interest in the 80s and 90s but football was always my thing. I will watch a few games this season especially if they are the real deal. I also will make sure to take my kids to the braggin rights game so they can see the best Tiger team ever assembled.

I think we should proceed cautiously on season predictions. Remember, these are teenagers going up against 21-22 yr old players. Big difference. Plus you have the roles to define. You have guys like Pureyer, Phillips, Barnett, and other that gave to mesh with these kids. Plus, we have a new coach...new system on offense, defense, that none of these players have played in or played for. Don't be surprised if it takes half a season to get things sorted out, and clicking together!

Realistic is just making the tourney. Remember, the returning players have never won more than 10 and the rest are all extremely young. Sweet 16 would be hopeful, not impossible but hopeful.

Guard play will decide how far the team can go. If Phillips and Robertson play well, this team can make a deep tournament run.

To hell with caution. The time to make a run is NOW.

PG will do fine. Just give Phillips the ball and tell him he's not to shoot. Ever. I think he'd be perfectly fine with that too.

Robertson will be better than anything we had last year. At least I have to believe that. I don't think he's going to be special, he just needs to be good so that teams can't collapse on the other guys.

I know I've been tough on the kid, but CVL could also potentially thrive (I don't mean double digits, just do better) on a team like this. I can see so many guys doubling MPJ and collapsing inside on JP and Tilmon that he could get wide open looks outside. I've always said he's great at playing HORSE and this team could turn it into a game of HORSE for him.

Having said that, we're probably in trouble if he's playing more than 5-10 minutes per game.

We could have on the court:

6'3"
6'7"
6'10"
6'10"
6'11"

That is absolutely ridiculous.

I think Phillips will be a very good spot up shooter this year. If he can not foul and stay on the court he will get 6-7 assists a game.

It sucks to say lol, but if MPJ and Jontay were to join this exact team next year, easily top 5 preseason team. O well.

Why wouldn't Phillips shoot? He can definitely knock down open 3s which he should get those looks. He's a good spot up shooter
