You can't defend the team playing like it did yesterday. I still think BO will end up being a good HC, but if the season keeps good my down this path Sterk will need to make a move.

He disagree with some that this is a lengthy rebuild. There's enough talent here now to win 6-7 games.

He should have gone to Memphis first and figured out how to do it first.

Rhoades was halfway out the door, took the easiest cheapest option.

With the way this season is going I'm expecting BO to be the DC at either Tennessee or Texas A&M next year, joining the new staffs. Then in a few years he will get another shot.

I disagree with the talent level on this team. Just look at McCann. A 4* highly thought of kicker coming out of HS, and can't make a kick! Lock...a 4* can't miss QB, and he's done nothing at this level, and he's a Jr.
take into consideration of the intestinal fortitude of these so called players after yesterday, and I'd say we need 80 plus new players!!

With the "results" he's posted in COMO, I sincerely doubt any major program would even momentarily consider him for a DC spot. He's turned D-Line Zou into a half-assed bunch of candy stripers. In one year as DC and another year and 3 games into the HC gig, he has completely demolished a great defense. I bet Coach Kul is laughing his arse off.

Kul is a great DL coach, but I still think D-Line Zou is a thing if Loud, Moore, Brady and Howard are still at Mizzou.

And, one has to ask: what kind of a coaching staff can't instill the discipline in its' players to actually stay academically eligible and to pass a piss test/avoid the MU cops? There are (or damn sure ought to be) requirements to wear the black and gold.

Not all of those are on BO. Loud was kicked out by GP. Brady and Howard both had legal issues.
Moore wanted to be TE. I know 3 are at FCS schools, Brady is at MTSU.

The great DLs could be back pretty soon. Turner, Byers, Utsey and Whiteside are all playing and have looked ok. If Mizzou's coach can get Parker, Trout, Thompson and Perkins in addition to getting Elliott eligible then the DL could be back pretty quick. The rotation would have 7 4 star players.

I'd betcha a cold Pepsi he has D.C. Job at a major program within a year! His D his first year as D.C. Was good. Attrition took over from there. Seems like we lost 4-5 Dlinemen the next 2 years! Loud....and a few others.

I will take that bet. He is on the record saying he took over the defense starting last year. He dismantled his own defense and then changed it back. No way someone puts him in charge of their defense. He will be a LB coach at Nevada or Utah State.

A P5 program D.C.? Maybe. I'd say it's more likely it takes a season and he's coaching LBs somewhere.

I agree that he will be a DC really quick. It's part of why I have regularly compared BO to Muschamp.

I kind of think the change in defense was a response to Kul having Pitts steal the defensive playbook and sending it out to other SEC schools.

I disagree, very successful as a DC his entire career.

He'll be back as a power 5 DC next year, and the school that hires him will be glad they did. With full time devoted as a coordinator he's never been anything but successful. I see no reason to think he can't do that again.

3 at Memphis. At Memphis he took a defense that had been ranked below 100 in each of the previous 4 seasons. By year 3 it was an elite defense. The Memphis defense hasn't been good since now he left.

So 3 years of success at the group of 5 and 3 years of shite at the power 5. How does that add up to being ready for a power 5 job? Reality is he was lucky enough to be at Memphis when Fuente really got the program going in the right direction. On his own he has shown very few skills that make him a desireable candidate. Other coaches will always speak nicely about a coaching brother, but he wasnt on anyones short list for interviews before Mizzou, and his tenure as HC wont make him all of a sudden a hot candidate. I believe his immediate future is LB coach.

His first season at Mizzou had the 6th ranked defense in college football. Being a DC and HC are different jobs. BO is an elite DC, he's not ready for the job of P5 HC yet.

Lol...you're a piece of work! You have no clue what you speak about! His first year at Mizzou, he had a top 10 defense in the country, and yes, Mizzou is a power 5 school. He took .Memphis, who was terrible on defense and made them into the top defense in their conf. Odom is considered one of the best defensive coaches in the game today! So go somewhere else and blather away!

Thats my point. With Kul at Mizzou, BO looked good. On his own...disaster. And in the past 2 years without Kul, what have you seen on the field that would earn him the title of "great defensive mind?" After all the talk is over, you go to the tape. And youre honestly saying BOs tape is so impressive, you would consider him a top flight degensive coach?

I really don't get all the continued Odom love from the very weird select few.
