Not a whole lot to see here, and I'm sure nothing is final. Not sure I like the setup that much but as long as it's shiny, state of the art and something kids won't turn their noses up at on recruiting visits then it's a big improvement.

I'm not overly impressed, based on these renderings, but then I'm not the target.

Does this project add any extra seating? Or is it just for the football complex? What happens to the existing indoor facility?

Like you said - as long as it's new and shiny, and the recruits like it, I'm good. It's a vast improvement to what we have now.

I'm not either. I was hoping it would totally enclose the south side to the height of the sides.

Big wall of glass with a backlit tiger logo on it shining during games. Or maybe a big video screen on top.

This project is more about getting a nice locker room, full size indoor football practice field, better are for strength training, sports medicine, nutrition and lounge.
Maybe add some luxury seating on the south end zone.

I don't think it will necessarily add seating, but it will have some new suites which are big revenue generators.

The football areas in the MATC will be repurposed for Olympic sports (hoops is pretty much self sustained in Mizzou Arena already)

It's nice and a huge improvement, the only thing I'm not a big fan of is how the football OP's structure impedes on the West Side of the stadium. Seems as if it will make a future renovation of that side difficult. I'd rather it go up instead of out, and eventually mirror the West side with the East side and that doesn't look like it would be possible with this plan.

I'm not complaining though. I'm sure it will be very nice when completed and it's WAY better than what we have now.

1. This is probably very much a rough draft. Not final by any means.

2. We don't necessarily need more seating. In fact, we don't need more seating. We do need to aesthetically fill in the South Endzone. This should do that. I don't care if it's seats or scoreboards or buildings or whatever....just fill in the gaping void above the stands in the South Endzone. This should do that just fine.

Also, it's cool to see David Freese hanging out in Odom's new office.

What I'd like to see, and would look badass is this:

Tinted windows and suites you see in this pic, but could be workout rooms and other stuff, no one would ever know from watching on tv thats its a full house inside, or empty, be built in the south end.

Worst case secario, they design the south end like this

Also, tear out and build a big complex where the cheerleaders practice, so much space back there.

Any fix to the South EZ is an improvement, it currently looks like run down dog shite.

How much money does the football program have for the south EZ project?

It needs to look really good. This will help with future donations.

The Green Bay pics would look great at Memorial Stadium.

That is a really good start. I am excited and hope the south EZ is amazing.

Even if they never add seating they can make it look unique and a great place to play and recruit.

I'm no architect, but why not remove the useless track and grass berm around the field? And install more revenue generating seats closer to the field that would make the stadium louder. If you notice, most stadiums front rows of seating are closer to the field. I don't see why the track and grass berm needs to be there. I was watching a game at Oklahoma St.'s stadium, and their loud fans look like they are 10 yards away from the field. And rip out the ugly fake turf, and put in beautiful grass back on the field like it used to be.

The angle really doesn't allow for more seats closer to the field, unless you dug the playing field further down which I don't think is an option because of bedrock.

On the grass, not sure, but I thought I read it doesn't grow well in the stadium for whatever reason.

Only way you could add seats that's view isnt 90% blocked would be to pretty much dig 10 feet down everywhere inside the track which would cost a lot to add what 500 people?

Id still like to see this fill in the gap(the suites not the stands)

The field sits on bedrock now, grass does not grow real well and drainage is non existent for a modern stadium. I would like to see the stupid track go though.

Didn't know about the bedrock. I just remember grass on the field a long time ago, and it looked awesome.

The natural turf was trashed by the 2nd week in October every year. Larry Smith had started the search for a replacment surface before he was fired. There are a multitude of factors why but the grass was never a great surface at Faurot.
