I'm looking into my crystal ball for Mizzou basketball in the near future

and I see Mizzou not making the tourney and finishing below .500 for a third straight season.
I see Kim Anderson getting fired, Mizzou fans jumping out of their seats in excitement and anticipation for which big-name coach ole Mack Rhoades will bring in to replace him, and then every Mizzou fan will be disappointed when he hires some no-name coach who is a "True Son" that we could have hired to replace Kim this year.

If the can land Dembele he can help right away. It's got to be really tough for KA to convince a kid to come here right now. Some of that is on him, but a lot of it isn't. It's kind of like Bryant last year. He really needs to land a big like that, but imagine what the other schools are telling the kid.

Dembele, Smith, & Nikko should be able to give Mizzou 35-40 mpg.
It's possible those guys could combined make a bigger contribution than Rosburg
I similar recruiting profile is Anunoby from JC last year. He plays 12 mpg at IU, and averages 4/3/1.

We don't need more MPG we need more MPH!

Center by committee. It can work

Smith is like 175. I don't think he'll contribute for 2-3 years. Unless I'm thinking of the wrong guy

Rivals lists him at 195
MaxPreps at 210.
I saw him play against the kid from Nixa that is playing TE in college and he wasn't pushed around.
Chase Allen is 6'7 and 220 for comparison.
I don't think he is ready for major minutes. But he could play 10-12 per game.
One thing he does is run. He sprints down the court similar to what Thomas Bryant does at IU.

It won't be. The idea is to start over and begin the rebuilding process sooner rather than later. We all know how this is going to end for Anderson after next season. This is just a waste of time.

Him and Thomas Bryant should never be spoken in the same sentence. I have never seen anything beyond his film but have talked to people that have watched him multiple times. No way he's 210. 195 is even probably a lie. Hell, I was 6' 3" according to our roster. He might be able to run but strong is not a word anyone has ever used in describing his game. Consensus is that he's barely an MVC level talent that might be able to contribute by his 3rd or 4th year. Hopefully they are all wrong.

The only comparison is how they run. Bryant gets lots of points by just running the floor and beating the defense down the floor.
Smith did the same thing in the games that I saw from him.

Yes, he can run. I will give him that.

We're those the same guys that said that Puryear was a MVC level player last year?
Next year success is really going to depend on the development of Puryear, Phillips, Walton, and Barnett.
The key to me for Smith and Nikko is to not be a liability.

I said Puryear was an MVC level talent. I was happy to see he arguably played above that level. Having said that, he's still not all world. Yet.

Puryear's performance is cancelled out by CVL's. He's exactly what we thought he was.

He played a lot worse than I thought he would.
I think if he can get off to a good start next year he can be an effective bench player.

I'm quickly turning into a women's bball fan. Can't wait to see how Sophie develops in year 2, and I think they have another good recruiting class coming in.
Someone wake me up when the men start competing for an NIT bid.
