I think I'm done fellas. The hiring of BO may have made me quit.

I'll be honest, in my era no one cared about Mizzou football, it was that bad.

I remember my dad telling me that we played in the Orange Bowl and thinking he was a liar.

Yet, we went to games, listened to them on the radio, watched them on Channel 11 and the Phillips 66 Game of the Week when they'd lose by 50 to Nebraska or Oklahoma.

We listened to Wilkinson call the fifth down game while we redid the basement one fall.

I was in the Navy when my pals made a dent in the losing, and I let everyone that was willing to listen to me talk about ol' Mizzou know that it was only a matter of time.

Then GP and 2007 and 2009. The move to the SEC. 2013, wow. 2014, amazing.

I can't do all of this all over again. I didn't go to Mizzou, I was always at heart just a fan that was emotionally tied to the struggle.

I'm letting go, I'm 41 now, and I have so much more to worry about, someone else can carry the torch of hope.

Honestly, that's all it ever has been, a torch of hope.

Good luck guys. I'm over Missouri football.

See you for basketball season.

Damn sidewalk fan.

You know I'm kidding. I feel your pain. We grew up through that same era.

Then there was hope with GP.

Then there was hope that the next coach could take Mizzou to the next level from GP's division titles.

Then there was BO.

He's just drinking. If he were really melting, he would have been banned already.

Speaking of which....no porn bombs remote or you won't be around on 11/10.

I'm not melting, I'm really not.

I'm at peace with things.

I got to see moments I never thought possible, I'm grateful for that, it was literally mind blowing.

I'm just not going to invest the emotions required to do it all over again.

I've got bigger fish to fry at this point in my life.

Sure, I'll watch, I'm not stupid. I realize I can't quit. I'm just over holding the torch, fighting, and hoping upon hope that Mizzou gets over the hump.

It's not going to happen.

Ever.

I'm a better fan for realizing this now.

Some hires work out. Some hires don't. This looks like it's going firmly into the don't column.

We are bad.

Friend of mine was a Cubs fan growing up. After Bartman, he just hung it up. Said he had better things to do with his emotional energy. He didn't really even change when they won the WS.

It's not a bad place to be. In the end, we are rooting for laundry,

Mizzou likely will never win a NC just like every team outside of the SEC big 6. I still love being a Mizzou fan.

I was born in Missouri, and I love Missouri. I love the warts of its history, and it's triumphs. I love the green hills, shitty party coves, and the country boy attitude wrapped around big city problems.

I haven't lived there for 20 years, and it's not because I haven't tried to get back. Sometimes you just play the hand the dealer gives you and it works out.

I love my teams though, because it's become the only real binding contract towards my past.

Life happens and changes around us, but there are familiar things that make it easy to deal with the things that seem to swirl around you faster and faster. That's what Mizzou is for me, and holding out hope for something that won't make my life any better or worse in the long run isn't really worth it to me.

I think I'd prefer to be a fan from a distance at this point in my life, and I'm cool with that.

It was AWESOME.

However, it was THE letdown.

We should have been in Pasadena.

This was another Kim Anderson Hire.

If Odom wasn't a true son, he wouldn't of got a sniff of the job, let alone an actual interview.

Sterk needs to step up and make another big hire, he needs to begin his search now. Odom can finish the season, but get the wheels in motion, could be many openings at end of season.

I used to feel the same way. Only about coming to Missouri from elsewhere, but no more.

St. Louis has gone to effing shite and I see no reason for hope on the horizon. It's the same brain dead political leaders who refuse to cooporate for the good of the region. Only now coupled with a cesspool of armed young violent criminals who have no qualms about robbing and killing at all hours of the day and night, while the police get shot at first and are asked questions later.

Remember when North County moved to St. Charles? Well now they're moving to Wentzville and Troy and I don't blame them.

Hold onto your memories but consider yourself blessed the dealer dealt you a hand away from here.

Remember it, I lived it.

I've slowly cut the ties that bind, the friends I've kept have moved to KC, my parents got tired of it and retired here in OC years ago.

Sadly, I'm outside looking in and I can tell you, it's not a good look.

I can't disagree with any of this.

Is what it is.

Maybe Canada?
