Meh, he would be great here, but he chose not to come.

So he's great there instead. Life goes on.

He's making me money tonight. Not too sad.

Ohio St is a complete team.

He'd make Mizzou a lot better. Oh well.

I think he will win the heisman this year.

People want to give it to Ohio state and most teams they play won't be able to hold him

I bet on him to win the Heisman.

That fumble won't help. He'll probably make up for it.

Looks like he is there whole team right now, and if they are smart they use him to carry them to the win.

So stupid for not using him tonight

He's a great player. Over the years there have been plenty of MO natives one could do the "what if he had played for Mizzou?" hypo with. Just within the realm of MO native running backs who played in the Big Ten within the past few years, what could Montee Ball have done for Mizzou?

If you play the hypo out throughout the decade of the 1980s and 90s it gets particularly depressing. That's the important thing, we are getting our share of local recruits now. Back then we got basically none. Now we get our share. Sure, we miss an Elliot or an Hale Hentges what have you, but we get a Drew Lock or Beckner Jr. or DGB or J-Mac or Sheldon etc.

We are now a "normal" flagship state school in that regard. We get our good share of the bluechippers but some will always leave.

Think how depressed Arizona State fans were the other night watching the #1 recruit in their state, a WR from Scottsdale, run all over the field on them for Texas A&M. Kids leave sometimes.

Didn't it seem for a period that Elliott would be coming here though. It's not a normal case, powermizzou thought for a long while he'd be at ZOU

He committed pretty early to Ohio State is what I recall. Mizzou theoretically was still in it despite the verbal and so we did all we could to make a push and give him the full DGB treatment with one final visit. Most have since come to the conclusion that the Elliott family just didn't feel there had been enough "hype" in the STL area about his signing day approaching and they wanted more attention. They got it, but its impossible to know exactly how seriously in play Mizzou was toward the end.

I believe the Elliotts wanted the publicity for their son, and for his school. Burroughs doesn't churn out a lot of athletes of that caliber. Mathletes, yes, but not blue chip football players. Mizzou was a distant 2nd, IMO. They wanted the cameras and the interviews. It is what it is. That's my opinion anyway.

Had the Elliotts just let him sign with tOSU, I'd have no issues with the whole situation. Instead they created drama where there really was none, and got a lot of people excited for nothing. Then were critical of their alma matre. The grandstanding left me with a sour feeling toward the situation.

I don't hold it against the kid, he went where he wanted to go and it was a good decision. Except for the CUM factor. But the parents? Different story.

You don't like my wife taking to social media to shame Mizzou fans?

You don't like me volunteering my services as a "free" recruiter for the Ohio State?

You're a Mizzou fan so you're a slaver. My time at Mizzou was like slavery. They made me play football and paid me nothing.

Ohio State!!! Something , something fight buckeyes fight!! (Leg kick)

I watched 30:30 about Elliott. Made me sick and mad. His ol' man can kiss my behind. They toyed with Mizzou. Tigers had a 1% chance.

Not even close. This team has a ridiculous amount of playmakers on offense and a very good defense.

You don't win titles with one player being your whole team.

There was no 2nd. That's what made the whole thing so damn stupid and why the Elliott family can forever frick off as far as I'm concerned. I have no problem with him choosing tOSU. In fact, I think it's pretty clear it was the right decision for him. My only problem is the way the family tried to make an arse out of their alma mater. Frick them.
