Realizing that other fanbases are very organized on Twitter reaching out to recruits, it is about time that we did the same. Apparently this had made all of the difference in alot of Blue Chip recruits such as Dom Booth and Tennessee. Fairly or not, they relate the strength of the fanbase of perspective schools by attention on Twitter. Therefore we are trying to organize our fans to tweet at a couple of recruits.
@MIZZOUBLOOD will put the handles of two recruits up a day. The message doesnt have to be long at all, but lets show the recruit that he is wanted. No pressure, so join if you want but we are only falling further and further behind. If you are as disappointed with recruiting as I have been, then this is your chance. Your call.

Stripes...I like the idea IF IF IF IF IF IF it is done right. The problem that I've seen is that some, and it can be 1% of the fan base, but some of those tweeting embarrass the school and do more harm than good. I would hope most who do it keep it short and classy and for god's sake, don't tell a kid he's a dumb arse if he's considering a different school.
I have a twitter account that I rarely if ever look at. I used to use it to get the quick news but probably look at it once every few months now. I'll check it out but I'm just not sure about a 40 something guy hitting up some teen kid. Something seems wrong about that.

I very much agree with the first paragraph. This is going to be done right. This started on PowerMizzou. It is moving to TigerBoard and I am bringing it here. Hopefully this can and will be effective. I am Stripes314 so you can add me as well reedus.

Reedus, you should add me as well, I use the same name and follow stripes.
And I agree, this could be really effective, IF it's done right. I don't like seeing our fans bash a recruit who chooses another school. And I absolutely hate seeing fans tweet hateful messages to players like James Franklin received last year. We need to stay positive, and not tolerate bad behavior on the part of our fans.

I added y'all (I think - Don't really do twitter) so I'll keep an eye out. Like I said, I like the idea because I just think that's the way of the new generations but at the same time, I can't but help feel a bit weird about it all.

If it's being done, the commits shouldn't be forgotten either. Let's not lose commits because the love stopped once they announce their decision.

Just an update. Peyton Newell announced he was going to release his Top 5 on June 1st. All of us Mizzou Fans let him know that we want him here in the SEC. He then put out this Tweet.
This shows you that we were out of his Top 5, but now with him saying that and going to a Top 6 he has pretty much guaranteed that we made the cut.
Guys, this Twitter Group works. Other recruits have commented how much they like the extra attention as well, and it only gives back to the Football Team. Come join us so that we can have a bigger impact.
