I was thinking the same thing RC. His authoratarian ego and aloof nature makes me think BO either believes he is or wants to be Bellichek or Saban. And what he has so far proven to be is a Woody "Woodinhoffer (spelling?)" who cant recruit as well.

College coaches make mistakes trying to hide too much of what they do. NFL teams use OTAs to create buzz.

Probably 2-3. Possibly 4 but I doubt it.

Maybe things will change, but that's where it's at right now.

Lol. He's coached one year, and I know you won't admit it but he was handed a shitty situation. A 5 win team that alienated a large portion of the fanbase with a goofy protest..

Now go ahead coach, start reeling in top classes with a state that doesn't produce enough talent to secure them, bottom tier facilities and a fanbase that doesn't show up for games. Should be easy.

BO is not a splash guy. He just isn't. That may be something that does him in in the end, or it may not matter. One thing you're going to have to come to grips with is that it's going to take time to know whether he can do it or not. It's going to require patience and commitment. Development and indentification will be his key, just as it was to GP. That's not something you can judge overnight.

You hire him and you have to give him all the resources and patience you possibly can. If it doesn't work, you try again. Such is life at a non blueblood school but we are pot committed.

JQ I can admire your ever persistent positive hopeful nature and perhaps you were not around for the Woody era but there are some red flag similarities.

Woody not withstanding poor on field performance could recruit and as a result excitement. TVZ and Cameron prime examples. Hell I was so psyched I did a road trip to Jeff City for an MO all-star game where unfortunately I was near the sideline where TVZ tore up his knee and sadly never reached the potential of the number 1 recruit in the nation. Woody beat out the true "BO" and Michigan for that #1.

Woody was also given a down team to start but probably not even as good of a situation BO was given. Also, I am not a buyer when it comes to the publicized racial strife being a valid reason or excuse for what we saw on the field and recruiting arena.

Depends on how many of them we need; BO takes what he needs

yeah he's not creating any excitement when he could be. We'll see how this next recruiting class goes. He may turn out to be a great DC and below average HC

I think before we worry about landing any or all of the local 10..... Maybe we should worry about winning games first.

You're spot on regarding Woody BTW

I remember TVZ and how it ended for him.... What could have been.

Parker - no leanings anywhere.

If he doesn't think he underachieved last year even taking into account the situation he was handed, then I'm hoping he grows as a person. It was an underwhelming year. Everyone who is honest with themselves knows it.

Odom doesn't let the media watch any of the scrimmages. He lets them watch the other practices, but not report on what they see. There's no hype this spring, because that's what BO wants.

He's a 50's coach in 2017. True sons seems to be code for boring as shite. I'm almost done with the concept.

You're not insinuating that you think he was satisfied with last year are you?

BOs media policies are pretty much in line with the rest of SEC coaches. It's a mistake by almost all college coaches, in not having more open practices and allowing more interviews of players.

GP had a very open media policy until after his first in the SEC.

That's exactly what I'm insinuating.

Most projections seem to be about 5.

It's all about wins this year. Go to a bowl game and show progress, I think Mizzou hits the mark for the 5. Have a really good year say 9 wins, and I think you add a couple more. Have a poor season like last year and it may only be about 2. Lot's riding on this season.

As for IL - I really don't think they're much of a player for many of these kids. Most of the 10 are national types. If they don't go to Mizzou, it won't be to go to IL. They'll be going to tOSU (Babb), or someone like that.

I have this bad feeling in my gut about Mizzou getting any of the top tier 10 recruits. Use Porter as your hype man and show them that they can get the same type of buzz that he is getting for the football team. BO is as dull and boring as watching a scoreless soccer game through triple overtime.

We need another top 10 weekend where the students know beforehand and they can do the same thing they did for MPJ, Harris and Knox
