Of the Big 10 from the STL, who lands more of them? Mizzou? Illini?

I think we'll land 2-3 total and I think Illini will get more out of STL than Mizzou. Absolutely nothing to support it. Just a gut feeling.

Who do you think Illinois will land? I can't think of a single one other than possibly Craddieth

Who could they get? Any I suppose.

Craddieth is possible. Adeoye potentially. Brown is potentially another. I don't know that they get any or all of them but I'd say about the same about Mizzou right now.

How many of the 10 do you think BO has to land to consider this in state recruiting class a success?

Yeah, I don't see them getting any of those guys. Except possibly Craddieth.

I'd say Mizzou gets 4-5 and Illinois not close to that.

I think they will get 7. If Haley can get either Thompson or Trout to commit and start helping recruit, the rest will fall into place.

If the hype of spring practice is any indication, they'll be lucky to get any of them.

Have to win some games. Football is definitely overshadowed by basketball right now.

Odom is not a big personality. The proof was always going to have to be in the pudding with him. He's just not a hype guy. Maybe that hurts him. We shall see.

I concur. Only the most persistent "fan boys" çan look and say Haley will clean up,,,etc. Really? What is this and similar viewpoints based on? History and trends make great predictive models. Some understand this and don't let "I want it to be so and as such I "THINK" it will be... cloud their logic while being ruled by their ever optimistic heart. Hell I know, been there and without the nut cup it was painful.

With the last couple of GP years (hell of a good coach but average at best recruiting) the trending arrow was going down and with BOs 1st year malaise at best season culminating in having the lowest rated recruiting class in the SEC the arrow has dipped dramatically. This might explain the momentum of the spring game.

To answer the topic of the thread, the Big 10 will without doubt pull out more STL recruits in total. As to I'll & MU I expect each to pull maybe 2 of the lower level recruits and maybe by a miracle Trout to MU. Ill is pretty much in the same shape (poor) as MU.

Odom doesn't let the media watch any of the scrimmages. He lets them watch the other practices, but not report on what they see.

There's no hype this spring, because that's what BO wants.

I dunno about Perkins. Yes, his brother is here. But I can see him wanting to be his own man and do his own thing. Some big names after him too. Much bigger than his brother had.

I'd say Brown is more likely. Trout was high on Mizzou early but the longer this goes, the less confident I am. I'm getting the feeling of those big OL that went to Illini and OU last year.

The rest I agree with. So of the 6 that we have a realistic shot at currently, getting more than 50% would surprise me.

I agree with the domino effect but it just seems those dominos are going the other way the longer it goes without getting 1 or 2 on board to start recruiting the others.

And that's a mistake. Part of recruiting is the buzz around a program. A new coach can create the buzz. Winning the east can create a buzz. Whatever you can do to generate that excitement of being a part of something. Quietly going through the motions, just trying to get the guys ready for the season is a mistake. The spring game is an opportunity to create a buzz around the program.

If it were me, I'd have Cox and MPJ involved somehow. Even part of a meet and greet. Hell, the game is a joke anyways so make them honorary coaches. The outgoing great versus the incoming great. Whatever. Just create a buzz and sell the damn program. Enough with the quietly going through the steps.

What about Haley's history and trend as a recruiter/developer of linemen suggests that he won't be successful selling his room to these players?

Mistake IMO.

Big recruiting year, BO needs to play the game.

He can be like this when he wins 10 games, until then, play the game.
